Watching the Past

Chapter 4

     Fragments of the past flashed by.

     Isabella and Shio's wedding day. Isabella and Shio facing each other, both filled with love. Yugo was smiling as bright as ever.

     This helped the mood lighten up a bit. Yugo's mouth formed into a small smile. The others were also able to smile, especially the brotherhood. They were happy to see their friend smiling again.

     "They're getting married!" Chibi beamed, tapping Yugo.

     "Yeah! Just like Papa and Mama!" Elely joined in as Dally smiled at her.

     "Isabella is a real beauty." Alibert said. Yugo nodded, agreeing.

     "Her dress is really nice." Amalia said as Eva sighed, knowing what the princess was thinking.

     Isabella finds out she's pregnant as she starts crying. Shio was almost crying and Yugo was still smiling happily.

     "Hey, she's like Eva!" Dally yelled as Eva smacked him.

     "Iop brain." Amalia snickered as Elely punched her. "Ow!"

     "Being pregnant must be surprising." Armond raised an eyebrow.

     "It is." Vini told him, not looking away from the screen.

     Ruuya was born. Isabella is cradling the little baby in her arms with Shio beside her. Yugo puts a light mint hat on the baby.

     Everything is happy.

     "That's Ruuya!" Said Amalia.

     "Yes." Vini spoke, closing her eyes.

     "He gave him a hat?" Flopin asked.

     "Yes, every Eliatrope should have one." Vini told the Cra.

     It's raining. Isabella and Shio are walking in a mountain. There's a steep downhill above and beside them. The rain gets stronger.

     The theater became dead silent. No one breathed. This was it. Eva held her baby tighter while covering Flopin's eyes. Dally tried to do the same for Elely, but failed. Alibert hugged both Chibi and Grougal, making sure they couldn't see. Otomai also did the same for Ogrest. Yugo's eyes slowly widened.

     Suddenly, the two turn around to be greeted by Yugo running towards them. He is dripping wet. He speaks, but it's mute. Isabella smiles, cradling baby Ruuya in her arms. Shio gives Yugo an assuring smile.

     "Um, why can't we hear?" Dally asked.

     "Because it's mute." Vini answered monotone. Yugo clenched his fists without noticing it. He could feel his heart racing faster by every second.

     "Where are Isabella and Shio going?" Eva spoke up, her hand still on Flopin's eyes. Vini sighed.

     "They're moving out of the city. But Yugo is trying to stop them because the mountain is dangerous to go." Vini answered as the audience nodded. Some had questions, but decided to simply watch.

     Yugo is not convinced. The rain gets stronger. Yugo yells something, but Isabella only shakes her head. Shio calls her from a distance. Isabella turns and walks towards her husband.

     "Oh..." Amalia said sadly. Vini's face also turned sad. Friends never last forever. They are hard to find and impossible to forget. For Yugo, friends will be the hardest thing he'll make and forget. Isabella also walked away from him, then never came back.
