Pokémon Brendans Journey.

2. The battle with May.

" I've already made it to a new town mom! I'm one step closer to my first gym battle. Aren't you proud of me? " I said with the biggest smile on my face.

" Yes sweetie. I am proud of you! My big boy is all grown up now. " Mom said showing just as much excitement as I was, maybe even more.

After a few more minutes we end the call, and I remember what Professor Burch said about May, and how she would be waiting for me in the route up ahead.

I get a nervous feel in my gut to be battling a trainer for the first time. Im also feeling the hype for it too, but I know I could do this to help level up my Treecko.

" Hey! Didn't my dad give you a Treecko? That's wicked cool. So how about a battle? " May says as she seems to be studying a small green patch of grass.

" Sure , but be ready for me and Treecko to anhialate your team! " I say with a vengeful voice as if my life rode on this battle.

In my head I think Pokémon Trainer May would like to battle!

" Go Torchic! "

" Whoa, i've never seen this pokemon before!"

" Because this pokemon's a rare pokemon, they aren't common in the hoenn region. "

" Neat! Now Treecko I Choose You! " My treecko stands no chance against this torchic due to the fact Torchics a fire type and Treeckos a grass type.

Oh well. " Treecko attack and use Pound! " I say loudly enough to have the some people from Oldale come to see this battle.

" Torchic dodge it and use scratch! " The Torchic runs through the field as if it had practiced this exact scenario before.

Suddenly treecko has a Scratch mark on his face. I can see hes not to badly hurt by the way he gets up from the ground.

He gives me a signal hes fine. I nod with a smile and say " Treecko go and use pound again!"

" See brendan pokemon battles arent just about damage its about technique and strategies. With that said Torchic use Focus Energy! "

" Huh I see! Treecko use Leer but avoid all Torchics attacks okay! " He gives me a nod of approval and does as planned.

Suddenly I notice were right beside a giant rock wall. " Treecko! You see that wall there? Scale up the wall and use pound on Torchic!"

Treecko moves at speeds I didnt know Treecko could reach. Momentarilly Treeckos reached a stick thats grown from the side of the wall. Treecko perched on the stick jumps to the sky having only being able to see his shadow in the bright sun.

Suddenly Treecko use landed with a fist on the ground perched on one knee with a fainted torchic beside him.

" We did it Treecko! You did good out there. " Aiming the button of Treeckos pokeball at him I press it and a red beam of light shoots out and absorbs Treecko. May does as well but whispers to her torchic as well.

" Wow that was exciting May. I hope we can do this again, but we should give ourselves the time to train and catch other pokemon. "

Suddenly May has a random face like maybe she remembered something.

" I'd like that Brendan. My dad said after our battle to give you this." From her bag she pulls a red device. " It's a Pokédex. My dad's good friend Professor Oak of Kanto made this high-tech encyclopedia. It records pokemons data as soon as you capture that pokémon. To catch all 718 was my dad's dream. He want's us to help fufill it by catching them all to do so you will need these, and may gives me 5 shiny red pokeballs. To catch a pokemon simply throw a pokeball at it after lowering its hp and causing a status effect to raise the catch rate."

All of the sudden a noise comes from the pokedex. " Treecko the Wood Gecko pokémon. It has hooks on the ends of its feet to scale vertical walls. " the device said in a robotic high pitched voice.

" Thanks May. You're really a good friend. I'll be on my way my dad's expexting me at his gym to meet a new person ! "I say running through the route. It's a beautiful day out , I just got a pokédex, and just won my first trainer battle. " What could get better ! " I shout "Hear that world you're gonna see a new league champion, and his name is Brendan ! "

Im on my way to make a quick stop at the Oldale pokemart to buy a couple of Potions. When a big tan figure dressed in an all blue uniform bumps into me and says " watch out brat. " but something else catches my eye. His necklace had a shiny stone in the middle of it. Then another skinnier figure bumps into me whom is dressed in all red and is a fairskinned man. Wait he had the exact same thing in his glasses. " Move along runt. " He says and I see pokeballs six of them to be exact. " Are you alright kiddo? "

I don't acknowledge the man at my feet. " What were those mysterious stones that caught my eye and why were they both in uniform? " This thought raced through my head.

"Hello ... HELLO! " the man clearly is frustrated.

" Sorry sir i was thinking. Hey who are those guys? "

" Oh beats me one said Magma and one said Aqua. Then tey stormed off. "

These two words act as if theyre stuck in my mind. I will have to figure who they are.

"Are you here to sell items for half price, or buy items?"

" Buy sir. " I say still with puzzlement.

The clerk notices and says " Hey those guys look pretty bad so i'd leave it alone, and what will you purchase today."

Taking in what he says I say " 10 potions please. " and act as if those two men and those odd stones never existed.

After paying and leaving the store rain starts to fall, but at the same time its extremely sunny.

" What's happening to the hoenn region? "
