Carl's POV-
So I heard about last night. It was gruesome. I can't even explain. My dad said the "kids" couldn't come to the meeting. I even said! "No more kid stuff anymore." Also, I'm not a kid. "I'm just another monster too."

"Y/N?" I asked.

"Yeah?" She answered.

"Should we pay our respects?" I asked, today was the funeral of Reg, we aren't having one for the porch dick.

"Yeah. I'm about to get dressed." She replied.

"Same."

I got ready in the nicest outfit I could actually find, I was decent I mean this is the apocalypse.

"Ready?" I asked Y/N as she stepped towards the door. She nodded. We went over to where they buried Reg. Everyone was there, except Edin, where is she?

The ceremony went on. When it ended Y/N and I went back to the house, my dad told me to stay in the house for tonight so he can do stuff and thangs.

Just when we were about to go to bed, a knock came upon the door. I went to get up but Y/N grabbed my arm, "I got it."

I sighed and let her get the door, I stumbled behind. She opened the door. Five walkers where growling and trying. To make their way in. "RUN!" She screamed. She slammed the door, no one got bit, also she didn't closed the door fully shut cause as we ran up the steps, the door opened. They came in.

We ran upstairs, and hid in the closet, she can't kill right now. Neither can I. When Reg died it reminded me of Hershel's death. So sad. Our breathes were heavy, we could hear footsteps stumbling.

The footsteps got closer, and closer, and closer. Five walkers in the same house as Y/N and I. I need to protect her, I promised her mom and dad.

Flashback
Y/N's POV-
My parents laying on the floor slowly dying, I can't take this. I bawled my eyes out, I ran out of the room as Carl stayed in there.

Carl's POV-
She ran. I couldn't blame her.

"C-Carl." Her dad choked out.

"Yes?"

"Take care of her, protect her. Please." Her mom begged.

"I will." I promised.

"T-Thank y-you. And promise us one more thing." Her mom choked.

"Anything."

"Promise that no matter what happens, she dies happy and not like this." Her dad asked.

"I promise. I swear on my life."

"We always loved you, like our own so-n." He passed.
