"Charlie, close those curtains right now before I suffocate you with this almohada." My dad says as he clutches the pillow in his fist, burrowing his head further in the soft fabric. I roll my eyes and walk over to the other set of curtains, yanking them open.
Once I got back to my graduation party, you can notice that my family was getting really krunk and my dad ended up dancing on one of the foldable tables, breaking it, and falling off of it. My cousins and I had to drag him upstairs to his room to rest up. We knew that he always woke up with a terrible hangover so we played rock, paper, scissors to see who would have the unfortunate fate to wake him up.
Luckily I lost like a pure loser and had the fate of waking my dad.
"Wake up padre," I shout. "Breakfast is waiting for you."
"Fuck off."
"I love you, dad," I say, leaving the bedroom.
I walk back to my room where Bea is looking through my closet, finding something for me to wear for today's meetup with Aston. It may or may not have slipped out of me that I was going to be with Aston all day today so she took it upon herself to look through my closet and pick something out for me.
"Here, put this on." She throws an outfit at me once I take my first step into my room. I groan and head to the bathroom. Once everything on, I overlook the outfit she gave me; I wore a light blue ripped skinny jean with a black off-shoulder blouse that had colorful Aztec patterns on the hem.
"Looking like a real cutie!" Bea squeals once I get out of the bathroom. With a sour expression, I walk to my full-length mirror and check the outfit once again.
"Isn't that too much?" I question.
"You're being ridiculous," She says as she looks for some shoes. "You can never dress up too much to impress someone."
"Impress who?"
Bea and I jump up at the sound of my mom's voice behind us. She looks at us with confused expressions, waiting for a response.
"Mom! Perfect timing!" I hastily spit out with a nervous smile. "I wanted to ask you something."
"What is it mija?"
"I was wondering if I could hang out and have a sleepover today."
"With who?" She asks.
"Oh this girl from school, she wanted to hang out with me before she leaves for college." I can feel Bea behind me nervously rummaging through my shoes.
"I thought you were the main character of a Wattpad story who's shy throughout high school and doesn't make any friends the entire time." My mom replies.
Bea and I both look at my mom in disbelief.
"No, she's a real friend." I retort, lying through my teeth.
"Well, that's great mija, what's her name?"
"Lana Del Ray." I blurt out.
Bea mumbles 'idiot' under her breath as she pulls out my black Vans.
"What a pretty name!" My mom says in a pleasant tone. "Well make sure you let me know when you leave the house, I'm going to take the family downtown for some sightseeing, let's go, Bea!"
"Right behind you!" Bea says as my mom starts heading out the room. She swiftly tosses the black Vans at me and winks, mouthing 'have fun' as she runs after my mom.
I have the weirdest family ever, I thought to myself as I slip on the Vans. Once I was ready I waited for my family to leave the house and texted Aston that it's go time.
