Spilling-Chapter two-The Originals

* Shawn knew this was stupid, allowing another person to join them, a stranger too at that! He hated that he couldn't ignore the situation though. Dom asked one thing of him and all it seemed easy enough at the time. Notify him of any open opportunity of escape, he said. At the time that was a fine trade for Dom saving his life. Shawn owed Dom this. He gave him his word, and he cant ever go back on his word...But at what cost? This girl? Shawn didn't understand what was so important about her. Last he heard, she wasn't like them. Then again, Dom didnt' understand what was so special about Vanna. He didnt need to explain though. Neither of them. Dom wasn't in a relationship with this girl anyway, or maybe he was, but it wasn't like him and Vanna. Shawn and Vanna were inseperable. The grew up together and survived together in the camps, even escaped together. Vanna was his and he was hers. Regardless, he did what he needed to do. He was the leader and even if it would make it a solid eight people. Shawn tried to simplify it in his mind. He liked even numbers anyway. He willingly agreed, so he willingly waited for her arrival.

The pandemic started over 30 years ago, 2019 seemed like a bad fucking time. Humans were almost vunerable in every way. Not only just humans but citizens in general, US citizens. The corrupted government had eventually fell into the dirt only 10 years later. The youth now had their theories on how it all started. Stories changed, gotten exaggerated. Shawn believed he knew the truth though.The REAL story of how a simple and "contained" pandemic turned into Marshall Law, Which turned into the tearing apart of families and the multiple "go ahead's" it took to allow the families of the contaminated to be sent in camps. For their "safety and protection", of course. In a way, Shawn was glad he didn't grow up around TV and social media, from the looks of it, it led the country to be severely distracted.. according to his grandfather. What surprised him the most was the fact that the media completely covered up the taking and destroying of families and people. One little scandal and people were brainwashed to forget, and with forgetting comes less protests. The rights of the people contained was no longer the latest news, the important topic of debate. Not everyone though. Major celebrities and politicians still fought for the rights of the silenced. They knew there was more to it then just a containment facility built to comfortably hold Covid infected patients. Yeah, they kept them there for their safety, but also for the bigger plan. Which miserably failed.This is where people get confused. Not Shawn though, Shawn knew better. His own grandfather fought with the protests.

Who exactly exposed the poor conditions that the government was desperately trying to cover up, how did it lead up to the biggest protest and riot the world has ever seen? When the people of America realized they were being blinded they indeed fought back. In person, at said facilities. Of course, it was then considered domestic terrorism and the military had every right to fight back.. and they did. Brutally. There was no turning back, both sides knew that. Some Citizens were waiting for this day. Nothing was gonna be the same again. For the people who went and fought defending not just the rights of the captured, but alos their own, they suffered dramatically. However, for the citizens who stayed home and watched the live broadcast up until the cameras crashed, they couldn't witness the truth. The explosion. The explosion that was meant to terminate. The secret weapon acquired by the shadow government from outer worlds. It was meant to put down the rioters, the last resort. Which they ended up unfortunately using amongst them, amongst anything for the very first time. People back at home didn't see the bright green beam of light. Only the thousands of protesters did. Most of them had their eyes burned out of their skull before they got engulfed by the light that was meant to slaughter them, but some..some of them were only but down for a moment. Long enough for the government to cover up the slaughter and bury the bodies in a disclosed location and have enough time to lick their wounds and forget. Only for a while. That's when the rioters came back. Out the ground to fight and destroy their murderers. They were different this time. Stronger, and with them came something darker. No one then understood what it was, everyone felt it though. The stronger other presence clinging to each one that returned. The became now known as The Orginals. That outer world weapon killed many, but for the ones that came back, it changed their lives forever. It changed the world forever.*
