Three days after Thanksgiving and I'm still scrubbing dishes. My mom grabs her keys and heads towards the door.
"I'm so sorry. I wish I could help but I'm late for work, Bella," she furrows her brows.
I smile and wave her out. "It's okay Mom. I got this. Now gooo!"
As soon as she leaves, my phone vibrates in my front pocket. I wipe my hands off on a towel and reach for it.
"Hey," Logan's deep voice says. My lovely bad boy. I've missed him. I haven't seen him over the last few days because of Thanksgiving. And we haven't done anything remotely romantic since Fall Formal a few weeks ago. We're in desperate need of some alone time.
"Hey you. What's up?" I lean against the counter and smile to myself. I must look like an idiot.
"In the car," he curses out loud. "Watch where you're going you asshole!"
"Still here," I remind him.
"Sorry."
"Where's your motorcycle?"
He sighs dramatically, "She's in the shop. Her brakes need fixing"
"Poor thing," I console.
"I know right? How will I survive?"
"I meant the bike, Logan."
"Shut up."
I laugh and play in a tiny puddle of water on the counter. "Where are you going?"
"Can't tell you."
"Why not?" Two quick knocks hit the door and I walk to it. "Hold on." When I open the door he's standing there. His dark hair is tousled and his green eyes are bright. A little smirk plays on his perfect lips.
"Hey sweet thang," he rushes through the door and picks me up off my feet. I wrap my legs around his torso and hug him tight. "Missed me?"
"So much. We're becoming one of those couples that can't stand to be apart," I laugh and kiss his neck.
"I wouldn't want it any other way."
He walks us into the living room. He plops down on the sofa, taking me with him. "I'm so tired."
"Why?"
"I've been helping Beckie clean up the aftermath that is Thanksgiving." Beckie is his older sister.
"Well at least you're done. I still have to face the gates of hell," I motion towards the piles of dishes.
"Want some help?"
"You just said you were tired," I point out.
"Never tired for you. You should know that considering how long I lasted in the bed after formal."
I push off of him and walk to the kitchen. "You're so inappropriate."
He follows me and grabs my hips. "But I did last long though."
I hand him a huge towel. "I'll wash. You dry."
"Yes ma'am."
I wash a pot and then hand it to him. "My arms are already tired."
He laughs at me and dries the pot. "We can always take a break."
"But breaks are the reason why I'm still suffering."
"True. So stop complaining and get to it soldier!"
I give him a sidelong glance. "Shut up and kiss me."
He leans forward until our lips are almost touching. "After the dishes are done."
I stomp my foot and pout.
"Payback is a bitch. You did that to me on the night of the formal."
"Whatever."
He pulls me to him and plants a kiss on my lips and then my forehead. Oh how I've missed my big softy.
