I wake up with a start. It's still dark out. I had fallen asleep in my clothes again. I sigh, knowing I will have to change out of them before going back to sleep because they were already getting uncomfortable. As I get up to change into my comfortable pajamas, I look out my open curtains and I see something in the distance. I can't quite make it out from where I am standing, so I walk over, closer to the window to check it out. Just as I get to the window, there is a big, blinding flash of red light... That's the last thing I see before my vision goes dark and the world around me disappears.

---------------

I land with a harsh thud. My body is sore from the fall...? Did I fall? I try to open my eyes to see what happened, but it's too bright. Wait... It was just night, how could it be light out? I can feel a breeze, and sounds around me becoming clearer. I can hear waves hitting the side of wood, people running around and frantically talking in a language that I can't understand but sounds like Spanish. Then a loud commanding voice shouting above the others. Then all of a sudden I am picked up by someone and carried away. I manage to open my eyes and, though my vision is blurry, I look up to see the face of a very handsome man. I try to speak but when I open my mouth, nothing comes out. "No se preocupe señorita. Todo estará bien. (Do not worry miss. Everything will be okay.)" The man said to me in a gentle, reassuring voice. Though I did not understand what he had said, I was comforted by the tone of his voice and the expression on his face. Before I could try again to speak I passed out.

Third person POV

Captain Salazar was commanding his men as usual. Everyone doing their respective duties on The Silent Mary. All of a sudden there came a storm seemingly out of nowhere. This didn't faze the brave and strong Captain, or his crew. They were used to such conditions and worked through it. The rain got heavier and the flashes of lightening brighter, with one especially bright flash of lightening they covered their eyes. When they uncovered their eyes they went back to work. All of a sudden one of the men shouted. "¡Capitán! ¡Capitán! Hay una mujer en la cubierta. Captain! Captain! There is a woman on the deck.)" Men came rushing over to see what had happened. The men wondering who she was, how she got here... Is she even alive. Just then the Captain came marching over, the men moving aside for him to pass through the crowd. When he got to the woman he knelt down to examine her. "Dios mío.(My god.)" He breathed out. He checked if she was still alive and thankfully she was. He quickly picked her up and shouted orders to his men. "Llama al médico y tráelo a mi cabaña. ¡Ahora ve!(Get the doctor and bring him to my cabin. Now, go!)" He told one of his men.

He carried the unknown woman to the Captains Cabin, gently laying her down on the bed that is fixed to the wall on the left side. He reaches his hand over and brushes the hair out of her face. He was so lost in her beauty, that he did not notice the firm knocking at the door at first. Ripped out of his thoughts, he bangs the end of his sword against the ground, permission for them to come in. When the doctor had finished checking on the woman, he let the Captain know that she will be alright, just seems to be exhausted from whatever had happened to her.

Time Skip to night time and back to Lilliana's POV.

I groan and lift my hand to my head to hold it. God, I've got such a bad headache. I groggily open my eyes and turn to my left to check the time. I freeze and stare in shock for a moment. I am not in my room. Where am I. Oh god, what happened?? I look up and see a well built, handsome man with dark hair, standing at a small table in the middle of the room looking down at something. I guess he hasnt notice that I was awake yet. I try not to make a sound or make any movement, in fear of what will happen if he notices that I am conscious. That doesn't last long though.. As if he could feel me staring at him, he looks up. First a look of concentration, then shock on his face when he realizes I am awake and staring at him. Then finally, relief. "Señorita, está despierta. Eso es bueno de ver.(Miss, you are awake. That is good to see.)" He starts to walk over to me and I try to back away as much as I can in the bed I am in. "Please...Don't hurt me." I quietly squeak out. My eyes starting to spill with tears. He stops mid step, only a foot or 2 from the bed. "Quiero decir que no le hará daño señorita. Solo deseo ayudarte. Para asegurarse de que no esté herido.(I mean you no harm miss. I only wish to help you. To make sure you are not hurt.)" The man said softly, hoping to ease her and let her know he does not plan to hurt her. "I'm sorry, I don't know what you are saying." I say, still terrified and crying. "Señorita, I do not wish to hurt you. My name is Capitán Armando Salazar. This is my ship you are found on. Please, tell me your name Señorita." The man said in english. I looked up and saw that he was now kneeling down next to the bed. I wiped my tears and took a deep breath to steady my nerves before answering him. "My name is Lilliana W-winters." I spoke quietly. He gave me a gentle smile and slowly reached for my hand that was closest to him, took it in this larger one and kissed the back of my hand. "A beautiful name. It is an honor to meet you, Lilliana." A light blush covered my cheeks. God! No one has ever spoken to me like this, or kissed my hand like that.... It's weird but wow, It fills my insides with butterflies. Captain Salazar got up, retrieved the chair that was sitting at the desk against the wall, and brought it over to sit beside the bed. He was about to say something when I spoke up. "How did I get here? Where am I? Wait.. you said this is a ship.. Oh god, I'm terrified of the ocean. The ship will sink and I'm going to drown." I was talking a mile a minute, my anxiety getting the better of me. "Señorita please, Calm down. This is a strong ship. I assure you, she will not sink. You are safe on the Mary." He said, trying to calm me down. "Okay. Okay. Okay." I whisper to myself. "I do not know how you got on board. We could not see anything in the storm as it got worse but afterwards, there you were. Laying on the deck." He explained. Then the memory hit me. "Red." I whispered. I guess he heard me. "Red? What is red Lilliana?" He asked, very confused now. I ignored the question and got up from the bed. I looked around the room. "Old..Everything is so old, yet new?" I spoke quietly to myself. After examining the room, I turned to Captain Salazar. His clothes were also very old, but new looking. I started thinking to myself about what happened, or at least what I knew happened so far. I was standing at the desk, leaning against it, biting my lip as I thought. "Wormhole? No... The flash of red.. Maybe that transported me back in time? Into a different universe? This is crazy." I say, thinking out loud. I then look up at Captain Salazar. "What year is it?" I quickly asked him. He looked at me as if I were insane but still, he answered. "It is 1720, Señorita." I sucked in a breath. Oh crap... "Okay, I guess we can go with time travel.. Although alternate universe is still a possibility. Wait." I look at him.. I realize I may have just gotten myself into trouble with what I have just been saying. The people in the 1700s accused women of being witches. I am not going to do well here. Especially after what I have just said out loud to the Captain. I stare into his eyes, pleading with them. "Please. Don't take what I was saying the wrong way. I know it sounds strange, but I can assure you, I am not a witch. I do not cast spells or curse people. I really don't have anything to do with what happened to me. I'm more of a victim of, whatever this is." I say. He stares at me, thinking I guess.. Taking all this in. He moves back over to his chair and sits down, elbow on desk, hand on chin, tapping his pointer finger on his lips.(Thinking pose I guess) I hadn't even realised he had gotten up when I did. He turns to me, resting his hand flat on the desk. "I believe you, Señorita . I do not know what else to call such things as the things you described, but It does not feel right to call you a witch. Like you said, maybe you are just a victim." I let out a sigh of relief, thankful that I wont be hung for being a 'witch'. "Thank you, Captain. Thank you for believing me." I say, trying to let him know how grateful I am.

"Armando. You may call me Armando." He said smiling. I'll admit, he has quite the handsome smile, face, well.... Everything. "If I may ask, your accent. What is it. I do not believe I have heard it before." He asked, curious. "It's Australian.... Uhh but I think in the early 1700s it was know as New Holland?" I say scratching my head nervously.. I'm not great at history, so explaining anything to him from my time, well, it's going to be a challenge. He just nodded his head slowly, in thought. The night went on like that. Him asking many questions, and me trying my best to answer them in ways he could understand. I didn't even bother telling him about the internet.. I don't even think that I would have been able to explain that one to him. Explaining modern plumbing and modern cars was hard enough.
