It was another hot summer day in Frankenmuth, Michigan. Summer had just started. Me and my friend Noel were on the way home from the beach. Her and I have been friends every since middle school. Throughout the whole summer we plan on spending each and every day with each other. We had a summer bucket list to do everything together, going to the park, the beach, the mall, and Fisher Hall and many more things.
We grew to love the band Greta Van Fleet. They were from our hometown and we always saw them performing in Fisher Hall. At the time, we didn't really think anything of them but as they grew popular all over the United States, we grew to love their music. We also both thought the boys in the band were cute. The last thing on our bucket list before summer was over was to go to one of their concerts.
She is a lady, comes from all around
So many places, but she's homeward bound
And now she walks kinda funny
I think she knows
Day by day by day
Our love grows
She's a lantern in the night
She's outta sight*flower power continues to play in the background*
"I really want to go to their concert, but i don't think my parents are going to let me". Noel said. "Maybe they will if we beg them to let us". i replied. We continued to drive back to my house from the beach. It's been a dream of mine every since I've started listening to them to be able to go to one of their concerts and possibly meet them. They were performing only a few hours away from our hometown but I knew my parents wouldn't let us go out for the weekend. "Hey, Since your birthday is coming up, we could ask for tickets and just say you want them as your birthday present". she said. She was right i could ask for them since they're on sale right now. "That's a good idea and maybe we could get backstage passes to meet them too!". i said with excitement. Oh my god if my parents got me these tickets my whole life would be made. I don't want to get my hopes up but I honestly think my parents might consider it. Hey it's worth a shot you know.
As we pull in my drive way with our hair all messy from the salty water and sand. We walk into my house to see my parents sitting in the kitchen. They look suspicious like they've got a surprise. I was low key scared but wanted to know what trick they had up their sleeves. "How was the beach?". My mother asked. "It was good, we just sat out in the sun listening to Greta Van Fleet all day, and we also got in the water to cool off". I replied. "It was such a beautiful day to be outside". Added Noel. I could tell she was just as anxious as I was because we knew my parents were about to tell us something. "Can you sit down, we need to talk to the both of you for a second". said my dad. We followed his instructions and sat down at the table. I was so nervous that i couldn't stop shaking my leg underneath the table top. "We hate to let y'all guys know but...". There was a long pause between the last part of his sentence and it had us on the end of our seats. "WE GOT BOTH OF YALL TWO TICKETS AND BACKSTAGE PASSES TO THE GRETA VAN FLEET CONCERT!" my parents both shouted. Me and Noel jump up with excitement and starting to cry tears of joy. We couldn't believe what we just heard. "Oh my god thank y'all so much, this was the best surprise ever!" we both said as we kept screaming and jumping with joy. my biggest dream is coming true..
