"This is going to be amazing!" Karin squealed suddenly. The rest of us immediately hushed her. We didn't want to get caught!
It was going to be amazing, though. The prank. We didn't just do it for fun. We did it because some people deserved it. Last week, Angelina Allen beat up Melanie Warren because Melanie is poor and according to Angelina, being poor is a crime.
So, today's target: Angelina Allen.
"I've got the keys!" Emily's voice came through the ear-piece I was wearing. "I'm getting the powder out." Hannah's voice followed. "I've got the cameras." I replied to them. Of course I get the dumbest job.
"The guard is on the fourth floor. You're clear." Karin said. "Emily, turn to your left and take the longer staircase down. Isla, I want you to go straight to the room. Use the shortcuts. Hannah, you are on the same floor as the gaurd. I want you to go to the auditorium and to the backstage. Once I give the word, I want you to run to the second floor using the trapdoor. Get to the biology lab and then go to the ground floor."
I took a deep breath. I was on the second floor. There was a small room which had stairs inside that would lead me to the ground floor, where the locker rooms were located. I ran quietly to the room and opened the door. I closed it gently and looked around. I heard Karin yell, "Now, Hannah!"
The entire place was dirty, with brooms and mop buckets and old furniture. It didn't help that it was too warm in there. It stank of mildew and rotten wood. The place was filled with cobwebs and I'm certain my hand brushed a spider's body when I ran through.
I was glad when I opened the exit door and stepped out. The cool air outside felt good on my skin. I closed the door behind me. I looked to my left and right and then made my way to the locker room to see Emily opening the door. She looked up and grinned as I approached her. We stepped into the locker room and closed the door. We didn't lock it so Hannah could get inside.
"Which one is her locker, Karin?" Emily asked into the small microphone attached to the collar of her black shirt. Karin was in the Security room, keeping watch and giving instructions. She had probably already gone through all the videos. "Right side, third one from the left." Karin responded. Emily mumbled a quick okay and got to work on the lock.
"I deleted the footage and shut down the cameras. I'm coming down there." Karin said.
Even though our boarding school was totally rich, we had locks on our lockers, the kind where you open them with keys. Thank god for that. Emily was an ace at picking locks. Seconds later, Hannah burst through the door, a panicked look on her face. "What is it?" I asked. "He....he saw me. The guard." She whispered. I tried my best not to scream.
"Did he see your face? Does he know who you are?" I asked. "No, thank god. I was on the second floor and I was going to use the shortcut to come down here and then he saw me going in. He chased after me but I hid under in one of those old closets. Once he went down, I took off using the usual way. He's probably coming here right now. We have to hurry up." She said. "Damn it." I mumbled.
"Done." Emily said and stood up. Hannah immediately took her place. She picked up a big can of itching powder and started to sprinkle it all over Angelina's tennis uniform. I picked up the tiny cameras from my bag and began placing them on objects all around the room. I placed one inside Angelina's locker. It was black, just like the walls of the locker. You couldn't see it unless you squinted.
Karin came into the room. She looked super angry. "How could you be so careless, Hannah?!" She hissed but she left it at that. I knew there was more to come later. "The guard is checking the parking lot." She added. "Thank god he's so dumb." Emily whispered back. "Where's the paper?" I asked. "Oh, right here." Hannah pulled it out of her back pocket and smoothed it out.
