"Oh my god, ew, why are you wearing that?!" I asked Karin as she plopped down next to Emily, who sat in front of me and Isla. She had come down last, claiming that she needed to get something done. Probably homework that we had to turn in five months later.
It was a Friday. I love Fridays. Not just because of the two no-school days that followed but because, on Fridays, I had every single class with my best friends. This Friday was extra-special because our teacher, Ms. Novaceck, was taking us on a field trip to see a movie. It wasn't a field trip, exactly. More like a visit to the town.
Ms.Novaceck was super cool. She took us to a lot of movies that were based on books. And not just old books like Romeo and Juliet or whatever. Right now, we're going to Insurgent! Yay! I've never read the book but Karin and Isla have and its all they talked about for days. Excpet the prank.
Right. The prank. We always try to do the prank when we're on field trips or as far away form it as possible. That's why we use the cameras. Karin says it safer this way.
We've never been thought of suspects. They haven't even called us to the office to interrogate us, as they've done with various other girls.
"What's wrong with my clothes?" Karin asked, staring at her outfit in dismay. "Um, its just so.........I dont know." I mumbled. I did know, actually. The combination of blues would have been super cute if it had been done right but it wasn't.
She was wearing dark blue leggings and an oversized light blue shirt that reached her thighs and a kind of bright blue converse and a denim jacket. She also wore light blue studs on her ears and a blue chain that had an eye enclosed by a circle and she had a super dark blue bag with her.
"Seriously, Hannah, what's wrong with it?" Karin demanded.
"What size shoes do you wear?" I asked.
"Um, a six."
"Great. Me too. Ditch the entire outfit. Put on that plain, light blue, sleeveless dress I got you last summer. Keep the jacket. There will be blue high tops the same colour as your jacket in my closet. Wear them. And put your hair in a ponytail. Oh, and put on those blue hoop earrings of mine. They're on the bathroom counter, I think. Add some lip gloss and mascara. You'll look great. And keep the bag."
Karin nodded and stood up. As soon as she left the bus, Emily and Isla turned towards me. "Is there something wrong with my outfit?" Both of them asked at the same time. I laughed.
Emily was wearing a black skinny jeans, black combat boots (Good choice), a black tank top and a black leather jacket. She wore a black chain with a flame enclosed within a circle and a black sling bag.
"You look awesome. I woudn't change a thing but......." I paused to dig around in bag. "Wear these." I said, handing her a pair of square, black studs. She took them with a smile and put them on.
"Okay, me now." Isla said. She was the most casually-dressed. She wore a sleeveless yellow top with a rainbow-ish heart in the middle and red shorts, with a pair of red converse high-tops. She was wearing a red chain with a yellow tree enclosed within a yellow circle and......bread earrings. She also had a red back with 'Happiness can be found even in the darkest of time, when only one remembers to turn on the light'. I didn't dare comment on the earrings. I knew it was something fandom-related and she'd kill me if I said anything.
Isla still looked beautiful. I smiled at her. "Perfect. But wear this." I said, pulling out a red hair band and handing it to her. She put it on. It looked perfect on her straight, dark brown hair. I'd be lying if I said I didn't feel a twinge of jealousy.
