Ezra
Monday's are our least busy days at Luigi's. I'm not sure why, mobsters don't usually have a 9-5 but that's what it is. Monday afternoon is almost always pretty quiet.
My section is full of women which means I'll get great tips. If the way they're eyeing me is any indication they're all straight, or at least bi.
Cain is watching me from the kitchen with a stern look. He's no fun, honestly.
There's this lady at the bar he keeps looking at. She's his type. Tall, thick brown skin, dark eyes and a horrible attitude.
He shoots a look at me every once in a while. A warning look. But it's Monday and half of those girls would suck my dick in the alley if I asked so they'll be fine if I'm late with drinks.
In other words, I have nothing but time.
I sit next to her. She ignored me of course, sipping her drink. She's gorgeous I see why he's so intrigued. I wonder if I should take her home?
"Excuse me. What are you drinking? It looks delicious."
She glanced at me and then down at my shirt. "It's an Appletini. It's really good."
Then the conversation is over in her mind, I suppose, because she takes another sip and continues to ignore me. She's wearing a corset top that makes her cleavage pop, and some shorts.
They hang low on her hips. She's sexy. I came over here to piss Cain off, but now...heh.
"I'm Ezra."
"Who?"
"Uh...Ezra?"
"No, who asked?" She doesn't even look at me when she's says it she's bored.Ouch. Heh. She reminds me of Cain. So mean. Unfriendly. I smile.
"Well what's your name. And I'm asking, so you know."
She spares me a glance. "What do you want, Ezekiel?"
"Ezra."
"Whatever."I chuckle, brushing my hair back. Her dark eyes settle in me as she sips through the red straw marked with her her black lipstick.
"Well, you're hot and you're not paying me any attention so obviously, I'm very interested."
"Huh?"
"Exactly."She lets out a sigh, her dark hair in locs, down her back, golden accessories all through them.
Cain leaves the kitchen, coming up to the two of us.
"Break time," he gruffs, he grabs me, dragging me off the stool and into the alley, tossing me against the brick wall.
I wince, my back scrapping against the rough brick. Someone's pissed.
He takes out a cigarette, lighting it. He's silent. Silently seething. Is it because I poached her? I wasn't really getting anywhere anyway—
"The fuck are you doing?" He grunts, looking me up and down. His eyes are like hot coals, and just as dark. He's upset.
I can't tell why. We have a delicate balance. He keeps me in line. I keep him human. This is...a bit out of his element. I think back. Maybe I left dishes on the sink. He's usually so tolerant of me and my antics.
"I was chatting up a woman at the bar. It's not unlike me." I shrug.
Cain clenches his jaw, his thick brows furrowing. His sucks his teeth, putting his cigarette down, stamping it out. Then he tugs in my hair roughly. He towers over me but he towers over everyone so I'm not too offended.
"Don't," he spits.
I wince, pulling away. "Is it her? Is that what this about? You don't even know her? You won't speak to her will you?"
I huff, as he glared at me, his hand pulling my hair roughly. It's not like him. To punish me for women. He must like her. Heh.
That just makes me want her more. I pull away from his grasps, sighing in pain. He's not going to let me go is he?
"What do you want with her, Ezra? I know you. If you approach her just because you think I like her, I will make you regret it."
I swallow. "But...you do like her. Don't you?"
Cain tosses me to the ground roughly, looking down at me crumpled form for a moment.
"Your breaks over. Get back to work."
He steps past me stopping for a moment. He's so mean, Cain. But he won't let it stand like this. He can't. I'm me. He sighs, closing his eyes, before grabbing my arm, pulling me upright.
He grunts with a nod, patting my head.
"You're fine," he informs me, walking away.
I nod. Of course I am. I'm more than fine.
And I want to get to know Ms. Dominque.
