Chapter 1 The Begging of the Boxers Dream

It was the year 2000 where there was a young lad watching his dad fighting in the ring on national television at the Maddison Square Garden for the world heavyweight championship belt in front of thousands of fans. In the red corner the challenger Dominic Diaz Sr against the undefeated  Anthony Morales the final round was coming ahead both men put each other through hell and back they both sat in corner for the last moments and spoke to their coaches and Dominic asks his coach Vinny what to do? he tells him to go out there and knock his ass out and keep giving that son of a bitch hell.  Dominic gives everything to the champion but he's enjoying the pain and that's pissing Dominic off he tries body shots but no effect came from it until he aimed to his jaw where he saw a weakness. Dominic lands a hard hitting punch with a few jabs to the jaw making the champion stagger backwards but the champion comes back with a hard hitting shot to the body making it difficult for Dominic to breathe but then he came back knocking down the son of a bitch with a left hook. until the champ got back up  with one of his own knocking Dominic down nearly losing until he got up then the bell rang to go to split decision it was a really close but nervy result but Dominic lost by 1 point. His son Dominic Jr wanted to follow his dad footsteps and fight like he did. he couldn't but just feel he was so proud of his dad for giving it his all. few years later Dominic Jr was in class fantasying on being in the ring just like his dad until the teacher came along to ask him what he wanted to be and he said he wanted to become like his dad a boxer until the class laughed at his dream and goals. even his teacher said it's a dream that will never be reality until a girl spoke out and said everyone can have a dream to become something it just takes motivation and hard work but with that you can become whatever you want to be. the teacher couldn't help but be impressed with the girl. but the jealous bully came up Dominic and said you will always be loser just like your old man but then the girl came and slapped him until he cried. she finally introduced herself to Dominic hi my name is Samantha they both started making a friendship that would then turn to be something special. they both liked each other until they left school to go their separate ways. 5 years later Dominic had just turned 18 and his mom Isabelle and his dad Dominic Sr had a surprise for him. he walks in and there was a small box with a card he opens the mystery box and in the box was keys to a car he went to the window and outside he sees it was 1968 red ford mustang. the dream car he always wanted. Dominic then says don't forget your last gift son. so he opens it and there was two tickets to go to the boxing event tonight. thank mom and Dad I really appreciate the support you given me to achieve my dream. Dominic my son you will do great things in life and as once a great man said to me everyone can become what they want if they believe in their selves. but one thing you should never become is a man with greed for money and fortune because that doesn't make a Champion. when I lost that fight I finally understood what he meant by that and the reason why I am telling you this you this son is because I know you can become something I couldn't be. you have nothing to lose and everything to win for remember that I love you son. later on that night both Dominic Sr and  Dominic Jr went to the event to watch the match and it became the best night ever until the next day Dominic Sr was rushed to the hospital after he collapsed on the floor. he found out he has a brain tumour. and doesn't have long to live. Dominic Jr came home from college wondering where is everyone until his mom calls and says Dom sweetheart plz come to the hospital I need you here. so he rushes up to the ward where his dad is and he comes in and his dad smiles at him and tells him to come over and tells him Dom falls on his knees and cries with his mum as he will have to say goodbye. later on that night he sits with his dad when his final moments were coming to a end. Dominic Sr last words were in Spanish  te amo.... as he dies a few weeks later Dominic Jr was getting ready for the funeral with his mom kept the bravest face ever holding tears back. he walked up the stairs and spoke about his dad and said his goodbyes for now and said this to him ‎  nos vemos más tarde con el oro .... he bumps into Samantha they both talked until Dominic Jr broke down in tears into Samantha arms as she tells its ok Dom let it out then  both kissed each other few weeks later  Dominic gets his boxing application forms in to finally achieve his dream he will have to do years of training and hard work but he was more than up for it as he signed up for the boxing school little did he know it was the same exact school he went to train he went into the building first time before anyone arrived until a voice came from the shadows saying can I help you kid? Dominic said to the mysterious voice yeah do you know if this right place to come to for boxing then the mysterious voice laughed then came out the shadow and laughed at Dom saying kid you remind me of a special someone who said the same thing as him. the names Vinny Scaletta you can call me Vin. say kid you look familiar what's your name Dominic Diaz Jr  that name Diaz sounds familiar. Dom  replies yeah my dad was Dominic Diaz Sr he used to come here did you ever know him or train together vinny then replied back never knew him personally but heard he was the best but anyway go get ready and get the  equipment on because we will be teaching  you the basics like stances and jabs etc. Dominic worked for hrs until it was time to close. you did good kid keep it up and you will be in the big leagues in no time same time tomorrow kid. Vinny closes the doors and goes to his office and sits and cries about Dominic Sr the man who vinny trained to be the best. looking at the photo between the both men he said am sorry kid I shouldn't have gave up on you like that when you went through the things you did but I will make things right until then sleep tight kid  I love you ...
