EMILY'S POV
(FLASHBACK)
"Hey, Long time now see, Em" Paige says happily as I walk into the Brew. I quit a while back as I felt like I needed to get on with life, not serve people coffees.
I giggle awkwardly, "Yeah, long time no see Paige. I—Uh—What are you doing here? I thought you moved to Philly?" I ask
"Oh yeah! I did, I came back because of Rosewood Independant Publishing (A/N, isn't it creepy how it spells RIP?) They interviewed me, and I become an editor! It's so cool" Paige whisper-shouts.
"Woah, that's so cool, I didn't know you were into that."
"Oh yeah, I got into it a while back, just never told anyone. Hey, you should come. You always said you liked journaling and what not, you can be an assistant editor." She says, with an overly happy smile on her face.
"Oh yeah, I might, when I get the time" I mutter and laugh.
She gives me a polite and warm smile, "Well, I have to get going! I really hope you consider it. Bye Em" She says before walking off.
I turn around, "Bye Paige"

(FLASHBACK. Time Period: Alison and Emily started dating)
It is late afternoon, and I sit nervous and fidgeting in the lobby waiting for Ms. P. McCullers of Rosewood Independant Publishing. Who knew my ex would work at as an editor? I don't know what it is about RIP but I'm more anxious about this interview than any others. RIP is now where I want to be. It's small and uncoventional.
My surrounds are sparse, but I think it's a design statement rather than frugality. I am seated on one of two dark green chesterfield couches made of leather. I stroke the leather appreciatively. The receptionist is a young African-American woman with large silver earrings and long straigtened hair. She has a bohemian look about her. Every few moments she glances up at me, away from her computer and smiles reassuringly. I tentatively return her smile.
"Emily Fields?" A woman with long black, pre-Raphaelite hair standing by the reception desk catches my attention. She has the same bohemian look as the receptionist. She could be in her late thirties, maybe forties. It's so difficult to tell with older woman.
"Yes, I reply, standing awkwardly"
She gives me a polite smile, her cool hazel eyes assessing me. I am wearing a pale pink dress with white pumps. Very interviewy, I think. She holds her hand out to me.
"Hello, Emily, My name's Bennett. I'm head of human resources here at RIP"
"How do you do?" I shake her hand. She looks very casual to be he head of HR.
"Please follow me" Bennett smiles politely at me.
We go through the double doors behind the reception area into a large brightly decorated open-plan office, and frrom there head into a small meeting room. The walls are pale green, lined with pictures of book covers. At the head of the maple conference sits Paige with her brown hair tied in a slick ponytail. She wears a white shirt, with a black blazer, a pencil skirt and black pumps. As I approach her, she stands and gazes at me.
"Emily Fields" She pauses and gazes at me with fathomless dark brown eyes. "I'm Paige McCullers, the acquisitions editor here at RIP, and I'm very pleased to meet you"
Well, we're friends and now we're just strangers becoming acquaintances. We shake hands and her dark expression is unreadable, though friendly.
"Please, take a seat" Paige smiles.
