Epilogue
Myles carried his little bundle of joy down the staircase of Twynforde House to the waiting people below. Val had already seen the little one having help Cat through her long labor. A labor at one point where she threaten to unman him if he ever came near her again, with his response a grin and telling her that he would remind her of that later when she wanted him in their bed.
Below waited all of Cat's relatives and many of their friends to see what his and Cat's union had produced and he was proud of this little bundle in his arms.
Striding into the drawing room they rushed up to see as Myles held his baby close and kept the white blanket wrapped around his child.
"Well?" the Duke of Markham asked.
"Yes, what did she have?" asked Cat's Uncle Trey.
"Show us," said the Duke of Warrick with a 'yes' from his wife and Myles' business partner, Amanda the Duchess of Warrick.
"We want to know who won the wager," Oliver Wainwright said with a smile. "You or Cat?"
"Yes, who won," Cat's Aunt Bea asked.
"Well, I can tell you that...." Myles said smiling as he dragged out the announcement and looked at each and every one of them. "I can tell you that....I won. I want you all to meet my sweet little angel, Gwyndolen Portia Landsdowne-Cameron." Myles unwrapped his child enough for them all to see her beautiful head of black hair and what he hoped would later be her beautiful deep violet eyes just like her mother's.
There were many 'oh's' and 'awes' as they looked his beautiful little angel over.
Myles knew between them but mostly by him his little angel would be spoiled but the most important was she would be greatly loved. He was already thinking about the many voyages he'd take her on just as Amanda's father had taken Amanda when she was young and learned to love the sea. So would little Gwyn love the sea.
"She's beautiful," Amanda told him. "We can only hope one day that either Avery or Anthony will marry this precious little girl."
"Yes, that would be something, wouldn't it," Myles replied to his friend and partner. "Then we all would be related."
Devlyn laughed. "To think that one of my son's would have you as a father-in-law, Myles. I pity the young men you try to court this little one, they will have as much trouble as the men that court our little Geraldine."
All those there chuckled and laughed.
