"...."

"...."

"...."

"...."

It became quiet again. I'm not good when it comes to starting a conversation. I wonder how longer it would take for her friend to come here. Its bad manners to let someone wait for this long. I feel bad for Ysabelle.

"Your friend, what's they like?"

"..."

"I-Is there something wrong?"

"N-No, my friend huh. I suppose she is someone that I could rely on no matter how hard things get, she would not judge even if I do something weird. She's someone I could share my laughs and joys, even tears. She's really great to have.

"She must be an amazing person."

"Yeah."

"..."

"...."

"...Nathan..."

"Y-Yes?"

"How about you Nathan, do you have someone that you're really close with?"

"Hmmm let me see. Nothing that really came to mind. I mean I don't even have friends to begin with."

"I-I'm very sorry, I shouldn't have asked..."

"No it's okay. Don't pity me, I'm fine, really. I might not have any friends but there's still people that I got along with. I think just that is enough for me."

"D-Don't you feel lonely?"

"!"

For some reason, Ysabelle's word struck me hard. I mean, I'm all alone, by myself. Mom passed away years ago due to an illness. It seems a simple cough at first but it turned out to be something much worse. Doctors said they couldn't do anything to save her. I still remember the pain to this day, seeing Mom suffer and I couldn't even do anything to ease her pain. It sucks so much. All I could do is watch. If only there is something I could do but we tried all solutions available to us. Consulting to Doctors, medicines, home remedies. I even thought of going to a witch doctor. Eventually, the illness took Mom's life. I'm so powerless. I couldn't even do anything to save someone that is dear to me, someone that gave life to me, someone that taught me everything I know, and my only family.

"Na...than... Promise me, *cough* to not beat yourself... because of what happened to me... Promise, no matter what happen... you'll smile... Promise me that no matter what... you'll never cry. I don't want to see you cry... my son. It will hurt to see... my only child... the one that I really loves... suffer because of me."
"Mom... I'm sorry that I couldn't do anything. Please forgive me, please don't leave me, I need you. I love you Mom, I'm sorry that I'm a naughty kid. I'm sorry that there are times that I disobeyed. I'm sorry. I'm sorry for everything... please... don't leave me... I don't know I will do without you Mom."

"Na...than."

"...To be honest, I feel lonely. I wonder what it feels to have someone have your back. I wonder what it feels to talk to someone about your favorite books. I wonder what I have someone that makes you happy that they became part of your life."

"Nathan..."

"..."

"...T-Then, d-do you want to be friends with me Nathan?"
