Izuku stood in front of an old, cracked mirror he had propped up against the back of his van. he looked at his reflection, eyes shining like a mad man. he had his vigilante uniform on, and it looked pretty damn good for what it was. he had his tighter black cargo pants which cinched near his shins, and his darker green hoodie with his bunny ears sitting at the top. he wore his signature red high tops, along with the knee pads he had found discarded in the trash heap. a black reusable face mask and a pair of red reflective ski goggles covered his face. Finally, he held his broken hockey stick in his gloved hands. He was ready. It was finally time to help people.
Last night, he was thinking about his food situation. he would need money for food. After a lot of internal debate, he decided he would steal some of the cash off of the crooks he catches - after all, people need to eat. He'd put the money to good use, and would only take what he absolutely needed. the thought that he’d only be using this money to help strengthen him - which said strength would be used to help people - put the guilt he felt at bay. let's just get through our first day in one piece.
Izuku waited a couple hours after sunset before heading out. it was 9 when he finally worked himself up to get going. adrenaline rushed through his veins as he walked towards the darker parts of the city - the parts where thugs and villains strived. parts like the southside. He shuddered. he was not going anywhere near southside until he could decently hold himself in fights over here.
Izuku walked into an alleyway and climbed up a fire escape. standing on the 3 story roof, he was reminded of that day when he almost jumped. it’s only been a little more then a week, but so much has changed since then. He was proud of himself for that. Izuku took a deep breath, then smiled. He faced the next roof - around 5 or 6ft gap between this roof and the next. He jumped up and down a few times, then ran for the ledge. and he jumped. In that moment, his heart dropped and his breath caught. it was scary, but exciting. He landed steadily, and continued jumping from roof to roof, slowly gaining confidence and speed with each jump.

there was a sharp cry for help, and Izuku quickly turned his head and ran in the direction of the call. he was nervous about his first fight, but it had to come eventually. he perched on the roof overlooking into the alleyway where the cry had come from, and quickly observed and analyzed the situation. It looked like a thug getting handsy with a younger lady. He seemed to be threatening the women with his knife hand, while the other violated her personal space. a sharp wince was heard as the lady tried hard not to call out again. The man seems to have a knife quirk, and by the looks of it isn't afraid to use it on the lady. I should draw his attention away so she can escape and call the police, and then I’ll subdue him until the cops arrive. taking one last breath, he jumped down into the alleyway. it was a rather rough landing, but it ended up working to his advantage.
“who’s there!” the man called out, momentarily distracted from the women. Izuku didn’t respond, instead rushing him and making him turn away from the lady. He went to smack him on the head with his stick, but the man grabbed it and threw Izuku into the wall using it. he laughed, forgetting about the women who promptly ran from the scene. this was not how it had played out in his mind.
he quickly pushed himself from the wall, only to get punched in the gut by the thug.
“You know, I was gonna have some fun with my lady friend over there, but it seems you’ll have to do!” the thug grinned, reeling back and punching Izuku once more in the gut. the man was still holding onto Izuku's stick, meaning he wouldn't be able to attack with it. this time, when the man reeled back to punch him, Izuku dodged. He twisted his stick then let go as he dashed to the side of the man. he heard a yelp as the man's fist collided rather harshly into the alley wall. the man turned around to face him, throwing his stick to the side.
