The days passed in a blur as Bright and Mild cooperated fully with the investigation. Agent Jenkins and her team worked tirelessly to verify their alibis.
Boat and Kaownah, two acquaintances from the reunion, came forward as eyewitnesses, testifying that Bright and Mild were indeed at the event.
"I saw Bright leave around 10:40 pm," Boat confirmed, his voice steady. "He was alone, walking along the main road."
Kaownah nodded in agreement. "Yes, and I saw Mild leave about 20 minutes later, at 11 pm. He got into his car and drove off."
At 11 pm, Mild was seen leaving the venue and getting into his car. Twenty minutes later, at 11:20 pm, CCTV footage showed the car pulling into the hotel parking lot. Bright and Mild were seen exiting the vehicle together, walking toward the hotel entrance.
The footage was clear: Bright and Mild had been together the entire time, and there was no evidence to suggest that they had been involved in any illicit activity.
As the investigation continued, agents scoured the hotel's records, searching for any suspicious transactions or activity. They interviewed hotel staff, asking if anyone had visited Bright and Mild's room, or if anything unusual had occurred.
However, their efforts yielded nothing. No suspicious transactions were found, and no one reported any unusual activity around their room.
One piece of evidence did prove to be particularly useful: the visit from a doctor to Bright's hotel room. Bright had suddenly developed a migraine, and the doctor's visit had been duly recorded.
As they submitted their statements, Boat and Kaownah contacted Bright and Mild, concern etched in their voices.
Boat's voice echoed through the phone, laced with concern. "Mild, what's going on? We saw the news. How did this happen?"
Mild's sigh was audible. "It's a nightmare, Boat. Y'all know We were at the reunion, and suddenly Nakhon Police accuse us of drug trafficking."
"What the hell dude!" Kaownah chimed in, her voice indignant. "We know you guys would never be involved in something like that."
"Thanks for believing us," Mild said, gratitude seeping into his tone. "Your statements helped clear our names."
"What did you tell the police?" Boat asked.
"Just the truth," Mild replied. "We were at the reunion from 8 pm to 11 pm. Then we left for our hotel. CCTV footage confirms it."
"That's crazy," Boat muttered. "Do you think someone's trying to frame you?"
Mild's hesitation was palpable. "We're investigating. There are too many unanswered questions."
Kaownah's voice softened. "Be careful, Mild. If someone's targeting you, you need to watch your back."
"Don't worry," Mild reassured. "We have good people on our side. Agent Jenkins and our lawyer, James, are helping us uncover the truth."
The line fell silent for a moment before Boat spoke up.
"We're here for you, guys. Whatever you need."
Mild's voice warmed. "Thanks, Boat. Means a lot."
As they wrapped up the call, Mild's thoughts lingered on Boat's words: "Someone's trying to frame you." The possibility sent a shiver down his spine.
