I glanced frantically around the moonlit clearing. A frosted, almost pure silver forest surrounded the area. Strange cats appeared from all sides, their fur lined with glowing flecks and ruffled by the slight breeze. Their eyes glinted white, reflecting Silverpelt that seemed to blanket the area. I swear I could've reached out and touched a star with my paw.

"Hey, what's happening?"

No answer.

They seemed to walk right through me, leaving a fresh, icy feeling throughout my pelt and insides.

I tried pawing at one, and gave a wave of my tail to one, and they blankly ignored me, going about their business. At last, the cats came to a synchronized rest, sitting in a circle within the clearing.

The one who seemed to be the leader raised his tail. The others fell silent and met the dominant cat's gaze.

It was a tom with swirls of fascinating gray and black fur. His back seemed to be covered in a silver whirlwind.

I opened my mouth to speak, but no sound came out. As if I couldn't talk!

A faint image of a black cat appeared in the clearing, but it was transparent, and there was no scent. This is the work of StarClan! I thought giddily. I turned my attention back to the cats.

"She is the one, Stormstar? She brings bad omens." a she-cat's voice uttered with disgust from the back of the crowd.

"Quite sure of it, Nightfoot. Dare you question me?"

"N-no. My apologies." the voice replied with defeat.

Stormstar spoke up again, "No other objections, then?" A long wave of silence swept across the clearing. "Good. She is the one who shall complete this plan."

My mind was racing with questions! Who is the one? What plan?

The cats filed out of the clearing and seemed to vanish into the trees. I was alone and dazed for a second, and then launched awake by a particularly hard prod to my belly.

"Hey! Wake up! It's almost sunhigh and you can't sleep forever, you know!" Fallenpaw exclaimed and let out a mrrrrow of amusement. I nodded and laughed. "Guess so!"

Her smile was the most captivating thing I could've seen, but I shook off the feeling and readied myself for the sunhigh patrol.
