Riya's POV

"What do you mean a mermaid?" Kotao questioned. Oh crud. I spat the cloth out of my mouth. "Ah great, of all the boneheads he gets to know first!" I grunted. Scarlet chuckled and so did Red. "You know you can't keep this secret forever." Scarlet said then looked at Black. "So, hm. About you Black...let's see..ah! I could just teleport you back home!" She cheered. "What?! No wai—" and Black was gone. My eyes grew in shock. "W-what the hell—?!" I said. Come on Riya think of a way out. Think outside the box..think..outside..aha! "Hey Kotao!" I started. "I bet you can't beat these two and get us out of here, I mean, you are not a man after all." I smirked. Kotao gritted his teeth and glared at me. My smirk never left my face. Then woah—him and Scarlet began fighting. They were punching each other until Kotao took the bucket he stepped on and banged it on Scarlet's head. She's knocked out. Red made a touché sound then charged at him with his knife. Kotao quickly dodged it but was left with a small cut on his hand, arm, and cheek. "Hey Riya," I looked at him. "We better talk after this." He said rather firmly. I was suddenly nervous. I felt sweat drop from my forehead. Kotao then banged the bucket on Red's head. He too, was knocked out. Kotao dropped the bucket and ran up to me. He started unlocking the chains. There was only silence. "You've got nothing to say?" He suddenly spoke. I opened my mouth a bit but turned away and closed it. The chains fell off and I stood up. "Come on. I'll take you home." This is..weird. His tone is different. It's scary. But his actions are nice. I haven't seen him like this. Is he..mad? He started walking. I did so too. "..a..are you mad..?" I said, well a conversation starter would be fine. "Mad? No. Why would I be mad?" He replied throwing his hands up his head. Well why would he mad. It's not like he owns me or I'm someone related to him. I'm just a girl who he and the others bullies a lot in school. But even so, he hasn't shown this side of him.

Kotao's POV

I glanced over at Riya only to see her deep in thought. I looked in front once again and sighed. We're near her house. "Hey." No response. "Heeey." Still no response. Suddenly I punched her a bit on her shoulder. "Wah—?! What the hell?!" She responded. "Ah-finally, earth connected to Riya!" I said sarcastically.

"S-sorry.." She muttered. I sigh, running my hand through my black locks before stopping. Riya stopped then turned to me. "Kotao? What's wrong?" She said. A mermaid huh? No wonder she was very smart. But then again--

"FUCK!" I screamed looking down at Riya who had kicked my leg. "What the hell?!"

"Pssh, no I wasn't." I spat in returned. She rooled her eyes and turned around before stopping. "Hey, anout that mermaid thing.." She continued, turning to me once again with a death glare. I shuddered, seeing her glare like that. "If you ever tell anyone about that, and I mean EVER, you're dead to me. Dead. To. Me." She threatened and started to walk to her home. I shrugged, turning away to go home as well.
