Phil's POV
Today was the day. I knew it, I could feel it in every fiber of my being. Today was the day I'd propose.
Steve and I had been dating for quite sometime, and had lived together for about 6 months and I decided it was finally the day to propose to the love of my life.
I got dressed, admiring the 1.5 carat ring before gently placing it in my back pocket and walking out to where Steve was sat in the living room with Biscuit.
"We're going on a date today." I stated as I got to the entrance of the living room.
"Well we haven't been on one of those in almost 2 years!" He replied enthusiastically as we had only been on 2 dates in the past.
He got up and ready and then about 3 hours later we left for the date, at the restaurant we had first went to together.
Steve's POV
Once we both got in the car I looked over at him from the passenger seat.
"Where are we going?" I asked, thinking of all the places he could be taking me.
"You'll find out." He replied simply with a smile as the Cadillac drove smoothly down the street.
Phil's POV
About 20 minutes later we arrived at the restaurant and I unbuckled my seatbelt.
"Well this is where we went on the first date." Steve observed.
"You're right." I replied, not wanting to spoil the surprise.
Once we ordered everything we began to talk and everything was going exactly as planned.
Steve's POV
We had been eating and talking and everything was going very well, though he had seemed a little on edge the entire time.
"Phil, what's wrong?" I asked.
Phil's POV
"Steve. You have been the love of my life for the past 2 years and the man I admired for many more. The reason I brought you here today is to ask," I said getting down on one knee and pulling the ring out of my back pocket, "will you marry me?"
Steve's POV
My heart was racing as tears ran down my face.
"Yes! Yes absolutely!" I replied as he hugged me and some of the people in the restaurant clapped at the proposal.
He put the ring on my finger and I looked at it for a minute before we finished our date.
After a while we decided to go home.
