They wandered around the town either on foot or via rikshaw. Even though they had a budget being from a small town setting and upbringing, the two of them were now enjoying as if their wedding was a few days ago instead of months ago.
Raavi smiled to herself as Shiva allowed her to slip her hand in his. It felt so natural yet so different from what they had always been towards each other.
An elderly couple had spotted them earlier when they were on the well-known outdoor recreational area near the lake .
"Harish don't they look like a newlywed couple?," the older woman exclaimed with glee.
Shiva had heard her first and loosened his grip on Raavi's hand.
"Kya hua Shiva?"
He hinted towards the older couple.
She grinned realizing he was a bit hesitant showing PDA in front of others.
"Shiva tum mere ek laute pati ho , aur vaise bhi yeh log toh anjanbees hain," she assured him.
"Haan lekin..," he trailed off.
" Yeh Somanth nahin hain mere bhoonath," she insisted.
" Amrita why are you gushing? Have you not seen a newlywedded pair after us?," Harish hissed.
She rolled her eyes at him.
Amrita and he had two children that lived overseas. They never got to see them except for facetime every week. She had a habit of blessing any newly married couple.
Harish worried about their future. If someday they got into trouble, who would help them?
His wife in a hurry to catch up to Shiva and Raavi nearly fell into them. He hurried over to make sure she hadn't hurt them or herself, but he was pleasantly surprised to see Raavi had held her up and immediately started to check for injuries.
"Thanks beta, for catching my hyper excited wife. You know our kids don't live close by. So she rushes around to bless others," he admitted.
" Amrita are you ok my sweetheart ." he asked her before she fretted he was forgetting about her.
" Main theek hoon Harish. What are your names? For some reason you both remind me of another couple," she admitted.
Raavi and Shiva exchanged looks.
They didn't realize who else could she have known that they resembled.
Raavi spoke up for them.
" Main Raavi hoon aur yeh mere pati Shiva hain," she introduced them formally.
Amrita did the motions of blessing them and they both reached down to touch their feet.
" Raavi if it isn't too much to ask, may I have your number? You see our children have abandoned us years before. I have no idea what sins we have done to deserve this," she almost choked up.
Harish laid an assuring hand on her shoulder.
" Amrita Auntie, may I call you Ma? You see my mother-in-law is like a mother for me but I lost my real mother when I was a child. If you don't mind aad se Shiva aapka dhamad aur main aapki beti ban sakti hoon," Raavi offered with all of her heart.
Shiva swore in that moment, he could not have fallen more in love with this woman.
" Well if that is the case, you both should come tomorrow for dinner in our home. This must be made official." Harish declared.
Amrita was beyond touched.
" Theek hai. Aaj se tum dono humare aapne ho hamesha ke liye. I also want to say if you have children, you are to bring them to meet us often," she requested.
Raavi paused and looked at Shiva.
He nodded.
He was not sure when they would be blessed with a child, but when that auspious day arrived, they would surely invite them.
