im reading the outsiders in my english class, (mrs mitchell's class u know whats up)
and i'm in love with that book, and to be honest, i really love the book a bit more than the movie, i have read wonder, the fault in our stars, and i always love the books more than the movies.
Small spoiler alert.
When Darry slapped ponyboy there was like a beat right? Like a pause, like darry had a moment where he was like "shit what did i do?!" and it was MUCH MORE SENTIMENTAL. Like darry slapped the WIND out of that boy in the book, and in the movie, darry shoved pony and hard rock music started playing as pony ran out the house, and in the book, again, there's this long ass silence which makes it tense! Like darry exact words were (in the book)
"Ponyboy..."
"Pony I didn't mean to!"
Darry from chapter 3.
Like all the details in the book, instead of being an asshole in the movie, in the book we can see darry was more like an overprotective brother, he was questioning pony why he was so late, why he didn't have a coat on, darry said "he was worrying his head off." and in the movie, darry showed no hint of that.
I seriously love the outsiders. Read it or watch it.
