(charlie's pov)

it felt like ages since i'd been on a plane. i sat near the window with y/n next to me and nick next to them. watching us take off felt almost nostalgic, the last time i'd been on a plane was flying for vidcon. right before everything went down. the familiar loud roar of the engines shook us, and then we were off. we'd been informed it was around a 8 hour, and so i tried falling asleep.

(y/n's pov)

*time skip to landing*

the plane had the same rumble noise as the engines died down and we stood up. i stretched  my back getting a satisfying pop in return. nick handed us our bags (aka our backpacks containing  the few items we brought with.) we walked off the boarding bridge and into the bustling airport. for 3 people that hadn't been around normal civilization this was a lot to take in. i felt stupid for standing completely dumbfound by my surroundings but i couldn't help but gawk at the busy airport. nick grabbed my hand, pulling me toward a food stand charlie in toe. nick and charlie placed their orders before turning to me. "what can I get for you ma'am?" the worker said, he smiled softly waiting for a response. "uhhhh.." i said softly, it'd been around a year since i had any real food, and even though to anyone else a McDonald's menu was pretty simple there was to many options. "i'll just get whatever's the easiest for you to make" i smiled. the worked gave me a confused face before nodding and returning to the back kitchen. we got are food, and sat down at a small booth. i unwrapped my food salivating at the burger. "fast food's never tasted so good." nick said. charlie and i nodded in agreement.

after eating we continued through the airport, i followed behind charlie and nick while they figured out where our uber was. "okay before we get in the uber do either of you guys have to use the restroom?" charlie asked. i nodded, walking to the near by restroom. i did my business (i'm not elaborating pervs) and washed my hands. i looked in the mirror noticing how defined my collar bones had become and the dirt built on my face. "i look homeless" i thought to myself grabbing a paper towel to dry my hands. before i opened the restroom door there was a loud overhear announcement I couldn't fully make out. i recognized the ding noise before the announcement. the same ding was heard last time i was at the airport. fear froze me in my place. "no, no, no! we left this isn't happening again?!"  i thought to myself sliding down the wall of the bathroom, grabbing at my hair i felt my breathing fasten. another person stepped out of one of the stalls seeing me on the ground.

"hey are you ok?" she asked politely. i couldn't muster up a response, instead heavy tears poured down my cheeks. "hey, hey your okay! i promise!" she said comforting me. we stayed like this for a few minutes before i calmed down and thanked her. i took a deep breath before stepping out of the restroom. "took you long enough!" nick said smiling at me, "let's go" he said. we walked in silence for a minute before charlie asked "are you okay?". i nodded, "i just don't like airports." charlie nodded understanding. "well the plan from here is catching the train and meeting up with some old friends were gonna stay with while we settle in and such." nick explained before walking towards our uber.

*fast forward*

nick thanked the uber as we got out of the vehicle. me and charlie followed nick as we scanned our tickets and boarded the train. my eyes felt heavy, charlie must have noticed. he tapped his shoulder letting me rest my head on his shoulder. i only woke up when charlie poked me indicating we'd made it. we exited the train (or as the brits call it the trolley), nick pulled out his phone typing something before answering a call.

"hello?" he said

"yeah, were at exit C11" he spoke noting the sign above out heads.

"okay, uh huh, see you in a minute." he hung up the phone

"they'll be here in a moment" nick smiled, he seemed way less tense than he normally was.

while we waited charlie challenged me to a thumb war, which sadly we won all three rounds. though i say he had an unfair advantage. "nick?!" i heard a unfamiliar voice call out, and watched as nick looked up from his phone and run at a group of four boys. two seeming to be a few years younger than me. and the other two around nick or charlies age. charlie seemed not to recognize them until one of the older ones called out "charlie slimesicle? in the flesh?" the tallest called out. charlie promptly dropped his bag meeting him as well.

i stood there awkwardly not sure if I should walk over and introduce myself or stay put. i decided on the ladder. I swung my torn bag over my shoulder adjusting it slightly as the group of boys, (now including charlie and nick) walked back to me. all except charlie and nick started at me weirdly. "you guys look like you've seen a ghost" i laughed awkwardly.  "oh! i'm y/n by the way" i smiled greeting them, out stretching my hand. no one took my hand.

"what hell happened to you, y/n?"

i didn't know what to say, what the hell had happened to me?
