Chapter 4:Thinking out loud

I open the door and run upstairs, then carry my dance bag and ran out of my house like a crazy person. I grab the keys for one of the cars we own and I'm off.

After twenty minutes I was in the studio, I open the door and see familiar faces pass by me.This was home. You could hear the sound of people counting their 8 steps and  the stomping from the hip hop room and finally the most beautiful room I would say, was the one my parents bought for me.

I change into a tight crop top and black spandex shorts. I put several kinds of music on to figure out which one I could do within the  10 seconds given to us. The song human by Christina perri comes on, and I sit there listening to it. After some few minutes I stood up and started making a new routine from twirling to jumps to acrobatic moves . Just as the song was about to end, I hear the sound of someone clapping.

"What are you doing here" I scream in frustration.

"Just wanted to see my little dancer" says Asher. He was leaning at the door looking at me as if I was dinner.

"Can I help you?"I say interrupting his staring.

"Who knew you had a body like this,you should really wear clothes like these, you would look so much more better than you usually do, and you would be over shadowed by your sister and finally fit in"he says totally ignoring my question.

I then realized what he just said that I didn't fit in with my family, never knew it would hurt this much .I knew everyone thought that,but I didn't think it would hurt to hear it out loud. Out of anger I stormed out of the room. I was so close to leaving when strong hands pulled me back against the wall almost making me fall.

"Charlie I was just joking don't be such a girl" hearing him say my name made me feel weird but I just ignored the feeling it's probably hunger.

"Can you please move"I say trying to push him out of me way.
"Nope not happening"
"Why not" I asked
"Cause it's fun disturbing you"
"What do you want?" I asked knowing that was the only thing he actually needed from me.
"Ahh, smart girl.. I need you to be my date to this charity thing my parents are doing"
"Why don't you just ask the slut you were lip locking with a few hours ago" I ask.
" cause " he bluntly says

"What if I say no" and as soon as I finish that sentence he started to move closer and closer till there was no space between us. So this is how I'm going to die.

He starts to slowly lean in making me nervous and stiff. As he continues to lean in I knew that I was going to lose my control anytime from now.

Those seconds were over.

I then start so lean in but not making to obvious that I want it to happen.

Asher takes his hand and pulls my chin up. Is this going to happen? We were millimeters away from each other but he just whispers in my ear "because I know your weakness"

He then turns around with his signature smirk and walks out of the room leaving me there both surprised and alone.

Seconds later jake walks in "hey did you know that Asher was here"

I didn't respond.

"Hey Char did anything happen," he says with concern.

"Yeah, I'm fine".

Apparently, I have two weaknesses'

"So I heard that there was a party tonight... And I was thinking that we should maybe go" lily dragged on.

"C'mon lily it's a school night and why would I want to go?" I say questioning her.

"Jakes going to be there and you could finally have some fun for once" she answers.

True I am busy all day with dance and school work. It's not that I don't party I just don't like dancing with sweaty teens who just grind each other all night and then watching people either making out or throwing up. If Jake is the going to be there I guess I won't be all that bored. Lord knows that lily won't be around that long and probably end up with some guy.

"okay what if I wanted to go I'm not driving at night I don't feel that safe, and you don't have your license yet. So who is going to drive"I ask.

Jane pops into my room.
"I'm going, I'll take you," she says
Ugh, I have no reason not to go now.
Lily was giving me a pleading look.

"Sure why not,"I say giving in.

"Yay!" Lily screamed.

Causing Jane to scream shut up through in her room.
"Lily what do I wear I don't own any party clothes"
"Charlie you do"
"No I don't"

"Yeah, you do, what are those," she says pointing at the clothes my mom got for me but I never ended up liking it cause it was either small or tight.

"Sure chose something but not to the extreme," I say.
It was finally time to start changing the way I look. Maybe I should take Asher's advise and dress like my sisters. Trying something new won't hurt right? And I knew that this might not be the last time I would be saying these words.

After some few minutes of arguing, on what to wear we finally decided that I would wear a black halter crop top with matching high waisted skirt with lace heels.

Jane offered to do my hair and makeup, which I was scared of at first but later on, it turned out to be quite nice. She slicked back my pin straight hair and put on more makeup than I usually would.

I walk up to the mirror and look at my self, for the first time I actually looked beautiful and like I belonged to the Marquez family.

As we're getting closer to the house you could hear the music and you could hear teenagers screaming. I wonder what their neighbors would say

We were finally at the front of the house and you could see passed out people who got too drunk on the lawn. I step out of the car and you already see people walking towards janes car to come and see her or check her out.
Surprisingly they weren't only checking her out but they were also checking me out. I could feel the jelouse stares from the girls and the thirsty stares from the guys. And it felt good.

Lilly and I walk into the house and we were immediately separated because of the crowd. I looked for the closest place to sit and it was at the bar.

I sat on one of the seats and the bartender came right up to me with a smile on his face.

"Hey can I get you something," he says politely.

"Uh I'll just have water please" I reply

"Really Charlie water, you should live a little"
I could recognize that voice anywhere. I turn around to see a very  happy guy 
"C'mon Jake you know I don't drink"

"Well maybe you should, it wouldn't hurt to just take one," he says

Sure why not remember Charlie doing new thing wouldn't hurt right? Seconds later jake started moving closer, closer than he should have been.

I didn't move back.

He then whispers in my ear" You look beautiful by the way"

I would be lying if I didn't say I felt butterflies inside my tummy. That's weird.

"Okay I'll have a beer"
And that was the moment everything went downhill.
