Chapter Eight: Focus

Charlie's POV

He fit his lips to mine and cradled my head in his hand. I was surprised at first but immediately gave in. Our lips moved to a perfect rhythm, it was so slow yet fast. His fingers on my waist made me breathless and left a tingly sensation. He pulled me closer to his chest. My hands were weak, I didn't know where to keep them. I wanted them around his neck but I was to shy. I had no idea what I was doing, who I was, or where I was. My body's heat was rising and my heartbeat was minimum 300 per second. Damn his lips were so soft.

What felt like an eternity ended. We slowly pull apart from each other and I'm brought back to reality. We are both breathing more than usual. He places his hands around my waist not letting me go. My back was against the car. I look up and see his blue marble eyes staring back at me. I didn't know what to say, what do you say after kissing the golden boy.

I looked into his eyes trying to read his next move, he smirked.

He broke the silence.

" I-"

RING RING RING.

Thankfully the sound of my phone interrupted him. I pulled his hands away from my waist and rush to my backpack. Lily was calling me

" Sorry I have to take this," I said. He didn't look too happy.

I walked a bit further from him so he wouldn't hear our conversation.

"Hey lil, boy am I happy to hear your voice"

"Um okay, where are you, by the way, I didn't see you in class"

"Oh um.. I took a day off"

"Ugh!! without me, what a friend you are "

" sorry it was a last minute decision"

"okay well where are you right now, I just got to Booster's to get a smoothie maybe I can take you to the dance studio"

Fuck!! I totally forgot about the dance audition, I've been so busy juggling all my situation.

"Yes please I need a ride I'm at the beach". The beach was 3 minutes away.

"Oh really, I'll be there in a few minutes let me just get this cute workers number"

I sigh, typical lily.

I hang up and turn around. Luke was waiting for me by his car.

" Is everything okay?"

" Yeah, everything is fine, Lily is coming by to pick me up I have somewhere I have to be at the moment "

"Oh," he sounded a little sad.

"Thanks for today, I really needed to clear my mind and the water did that"

"Yeah anytime, and the kiss m-"

"CHARLIE!!" Lilly screamed. Well, that was quick.

"Sorry, I really got to go, thanks again"

I walked up to the back of the car and grabbed my stuff. Lily was beeping her horn repeatedly. Before leaving I waved goodbye and he nodded back then drove off.

"Who was that?" Lily asked.

"Luke" I mumbled hoping she heard another name. "WHAT LUKE AS IN OUR LUKE FROM SCHOOL". I nodded.

" You've got a lot of explaining to do young lady".

The entire road trip to my dance studio was spent explaining to her what happened in the bathroom. She didn't really like the fact that I didn't come to her first and then threatened to kill Angie if she saw her again.
