Deidara was raised from his thoughts when Tobi shifted on the covers. His partner reached out and grabbed Deidara's hair to hive it behind his shoulders. The golden locks shimmered in the candle light. Tobi shed his hands through it to get it to lay flat. He glanced at it apprecciatively before getting a comb out of his dark cloak. Deidara turned his head at the noise, wondering who-knows-what his partner was hiding in there. The item in Tobi's was of a golden coulour, flowers and vines revealing tawny couloured wood. Deidara eyed it couriously, he was fond of art of any kind, -at least to some extend. Tobi raised his hand to tab the Blonde's shoulder. "Relax, Senpai." Deidara frowned, turning his head all the same. His gaze instead fell on the orange light of the candle, which illuminated it's sourroundings. It reminded him of his precious explosions. Deidara smiled at this thought. He closed his eyes feeling the soothing light of the candle and Tobi's body heat sourrounding him. Hands slithered through his hair, pulling the comb all the way down and repeating the motion. The comb was gliding through Deidara's hair again and again. He wondered because although Tobi's hair was quite short, he seemed practiced at the task.
Keeping his eyes open kept getting harder and harder for Deidara, he leaned against his partner and sleep took over him.
The next morning, Deidara was woken up by a ray of light crawling through a gap in the stone wall. He opened his eyes by a fraction and blinked a few times, feeling dizzy from sleep. Comfortable warmth sourrounded him and he closed his eyes, wanting to drift away to sleep again. He turned to change his position to get more comfortable and cuddled his head into the warmth beneath him. He smiled contently and proceeded to lay there a few seconds before he felt something move. He sat up(fast) and with a jolt of different emotions he realised he had been lying in bed with Tobi. He sat there, openmouthed, before anger overtook him. Deidara began pushing Tobi out of the bed, who screeched loudly having been avoken. "SE-SENPAI?!" Tobi desperatly tried grasping the bedframe, but to no use, soon he hit the floor, with a loud thud, headfirst. Deidara hovered over the edge of the bed, looking down at his "victim" with a rather triumphant expression. Tobi lay on the ground ( his arms and legs sticking out tragically). Deidara strangely found his anger subsiding, but the defiant side of him still wanted to punish Tobi for this. Deidara jumped out of the bed, stomping towards Tobi angrily. "TOBI"-Tobi didn't react. "Tobi stop being stupid!"- Deidara came to a halt beside his partner, proceeding to kick Tobi's side defiantly. But Tobi still didn't react. He began having an unpleasent feeling in his guts. He stood there for a few seconds, not knowing what to do. Then he stooped down shaking his partner again. "Tobi", but again, Tobi still didn't react. He seemed to have hit his head pretty bad.
Deidara actually started to worry a bit now. "Tobi", Deidara bend over him, his hair falling to lay itself across Tobi's chest which, Deidara just noticed, wasn't obscured by his cloak anymore. Tobi must have taken it off during the night. Only a black longsleeve remained in its place. Deidara stared at his chest for a few seconds before shaking him again. "Tobi wake up", he repeated again, his voice growing rather panicky.
"SENPAI", Deidara flinched at the sudden noise. "I just pranked you! I'm not actually hurt." Deidara blinked, not yet having processed what Tobi had said. Said Tobi sat up which resulted in their faces being only inches apart. "You cared about me" "I- TOBI", Deidara screamed, backing away, this time his voice depicted anger. "I'LL KILL YOU!"- but Tobi backed away. "Naw Senpai." Said Senpai stormed towardsTobi, who leaped to the side and instead stormed to the door. Deidara was left behind, he cursed and took a turn towards the door aswell. It was shut right into his face, which resulted in him having to stop hecticaly and slam the door open right again before proceeding to chase after Tobi's echoing steps down the hallway. Although Tobi had run out of his sight, Deidara was determined to catch him. He followed the noise around several corners before ending up at the end of the hallway, perplexed. - Tobi was nowhere to be seen. There was a room to his left, but Tobi had neither heard a hallway open nor close. - But this had to be the only option. He extended his hand towards the doorknob and, - after hesitating , opened the door. He came to stand in the doorway, facing a figure standing in the shadows.
"Deidara." He was greeted by black Zetsu. The figure turned and Deidara stared into yellow eyes which seemed to bore into his own, in a way that was inhuman. Although Deidara supposed he wasn't human, after all. A shiver ran down Deidara's spine. Zetsu always awoked an uneasy feeling in him. Black Zetsu atleast had to be the imbodiment of evil. Deidara didn't trust him - well, as a shinobi he really coulden't trust anyone. He didn't even question how Zetsu got there in the first place, that guy could appear whenever he liked.
His thoughts wandered back to Tobi's strange disapperance. Meeting Zetsu shortly after surely wasn't a coincidence. (They seemed to be really close, after all). Deidara frowned. Who knew how long Zetsu had been there. Right now, he didn't care. He wanted to know where Tobi had disappeared to to give him a good beating. "Have you seen Tobi, hm?", Deidara inquired although a little intimidated trying to sound confident.
"Why do you want to know?", this time it was white Zetsu speaking, lowering his head. Deidara chose not to answer.
Black Zetsu chuckled
"Can you tell me where he went?", Deidara pressed his point, wanting to receive an answer. Zetsu rose an eyebrow. " That won't be necessary. I'll go look for him myself." Deidara wanted to retard, but Zetsu was already receiding back into the ground.
Deidara was left standing there, staring at the now empty space Zetsu had been occupying. He turned around, heading out of the door and trying to find their room in this labyrinth of a base.
...
Several miles away, birds were resting peacefully on top of a statue. Above the howling wind, two figures appeared almost noiselessly, therefore only disturbing the birds when they stepped forward to the topmost point of Uchiha Madara's statue.
