Padabog akong pumasok sa doctor office then i saw Doc. Thara Celestine she's my colleague and i was a years ahead of her as she walk towards me while holding a bottle of water
"May masamang nangyari ba sayo Doc. Vera?"
I just raised my eyebrows at her at hindi ko alam kung paano nga ba sasagutin ang tanong niya i was just annoyed the fact that whenever i go around or when someone see me like a schoolmate they will just gonna said 'when are you going to married' duh! Marriage is not a race for me.
"Alam mo kasi Doc. Thara yung huling patient niya ay anak pala ng schoolmate niya so they had this little conversation then her classmate keep reminiscing about the old schooldays hanggang sa tinanong na kung kailan ba siya ikakasal you know how she got easily pissed when someone ask her about the 'marriage thing'"
Napatingin kami ni Doc. Thara sa likod kung saan nanggagaling yung boses na yun and we saw Nurse. Alexandria she is my PA also our friend.
"Oo nga naman! I've heard some doctors saying that about you Doc. Vera kailan kaba talaga ikakasal?"
Really!? I gave Doc. Thara a you-too-look then i just rolled my eyes on them and open my PC to put all of my patients medical records and also just to avoid that damn question.
"Let's not ask her that Doc. Thara baka masermonan tayo niyan hirap pa naman suyuin yung isang matandang dalaga"
Pangpipikon sakin ni Nurse. Alexandria as i glared at her and went out of the office instantly and then i saw Doc. Thara laugh lightly
"Sorry Doc. Vera, pero sa totoo lang they had a point bakit ba hanggang ngayon hindi kapa din kinakasal? Are you waiting for someone? Or you just had no time entering into a relationship?"
I look at Doc. Thara as i place the piece of paper on my table at napapaisip ako sa tanong niya. Well all of them had a point matanda na nga ako also my parent are asking me kung kailan ba ako ikakasal o di kaya kailan daw sila mag kaka-apo sakin but the fact that I'm not ready to enter a relationship because my past relationship left a huge mark on my life.
Me and Doc. Thara are here at the Medical Director office pinatawag niya kami kanina kasi mayroon daw siyang importanteng sasabibin samin
"Why did you call us MD?" Tanong ni Doc. Thara sabay upo kakadating lang kasi namin sa office as i seat beside her then MD look at us as he placed the folder on his desk
"I call you both here because i have something to tackle about" he said
"What is it MD? Can you tell us now?"
"We were having a medical mission" as i heard those words parang nabuhayan agad ako kasi it's been a long time since we were invited in a medical mission tsaka ang saya kaya tumulong sa mga taong nangangailangan na walang hinihintay na kapalit.
"When is it doc?" Sabi ko as our MD smile at me and Doc. Thara at the same time
"Well our medical mission will be held next month and also the medical mission will be in Ilocos"
Napanganga ako sa sinabi ni MD is he serious ilocos? Ang layo layo naman ng medical mission na yun tsaka first time ko mag medical mission sa malayong lugar we use to have a medical mission pero dito lang sa mga Barangay pero in ilocos? That's a different type of story. Tsaka ang dami kong naalala sa Ilocos something like a bad and a good memory.
"Ang layo naman siguro ng medical mission na yan doc tsaka sino ba yung nag invite satin dun?" Tanong ni Doc. Thara kay MD
"He is one of the congressman in Ilocos tsaka sikat yung pamilya nila doon at sa buong parte ng pilipinas and neither our CEO can't declined their offer"
"So who is he? Can you tell us his name? Ang dami kayang congressman sa Ilocos? How would we thank him for his good gratitude right?" Sabi ko kanya in fact i was just curios kung sino ba talaga yung nag invite samin sa ganitong set up ng medical mission.
"Lahat ng tao kilala siya especially ng mga kababaihan at kilala mo siya mismo Doc. Vera he is very close to you"
Napa isip ako sa sinabi ni MD as Doc. Thara look at me confused at sino ba yung tinutukoy ni MD na kilala ko daw tung congressman na to e sa buong buhay ko wala naman akong kakilalang congressman sa ilocos na naging kaibigan ko.
"Who is he MD? Don't be a cliffhanger sabihin mo na lang nang daretsahan" naiinip na sabi ni Doc. Thara
"He is Ferdinand Alexander 'Sandro' Marcos"
The MD look at me while saying his name at napa-awang ang labi ko sa sinabi niya as Doc. Thara look at me
"No way! No way in hell! Talaga bang siya yung nag invite satin? Baka namalikmata ka lang MD?" I started to panic after i hear his name
"Doc. Vera he is the one, I checked it multiple times at hindi ako nagkakamali"
"Gosh! I can't do this, I'm sorry but I can't be in that medical mission!" Pangtatangi ko as MD look at me in disappointment
"Doc. Vera i already told you that you should not bring your personal issue in your job!" MD started to raise his voice on me as Doc. Thara is trying to calm me down
"But MD I can't see him! I don't want to see that guy who ruined my life!"
"I understand that Doc.Vera but you should move on it happened a long time ago, also this medical mission is not all about your situation nor him this medical mission is to help the people who needed us!"
"I can't! I can't do this marami namang ibang mas magaling na Pediatrician diyan kesa sakin sila na lang yung dalhin niyo sa medical mission"
"I'm sorry but I can't Doc.Vera whether you like it or not sasama ka sa medical mission sa ilocos also Congressman Sandro Marcos was on his way"
"What!" I yelled.
Then the door open as the three of us look at the door then a man in a red polo shirt came in.
My world instantly stop spinning as my heart starts to beat so fast when i see him again.
Our eyes met but he looked away as if he didn't know me
Like he didn't love me at all..

Does he even love me?
"Good morning everyone.." he calmly said as he started to walk towards us as i started to walk backwards still processing this moment if it's even real or i am dreaming.
"Welcome to our Hospital Congressman Sandro also I'm glad that you choose our hospital to participate in a medical mission and i would like you to meet Doc. Thara Celestine Williams our Surgeon Doctor"
"Hello Doc. Thara nice meeting you!" he said
"It was nice meeting you Congressman Sandro!" She replied back
Like he didn't hurt me.
"Also...i would like you to meet Doctor Adeline Veronica De Vera our Pediatrician Doctor"
"It was nice meeting you Doc. Adeline" he said.
Like he didn't leave me all alone..
