Sam Davis walks out of the restroom perplexed, shocked and a little confused. But nothing is more shocking than what she witnesses on the table which she previously occupied. Now there is a person sitting opposite of her previously occupied seat. And that woman is casually ordering food while sipping on her wine. Wine. Sam pauses to recheck if her brain actually registered that correctly. Yep, she was right the first time. There is indeed wine now present on the table poured in two glasses, with a bottle nearby while her companion, Sam pauses to think if she can even refer to Katie as her companion, for the evening. Nevertheless, Katie is sipping her wine pretty casually while ordering something off the menu to a waiter, who keeps glancing at Sam, almost as if he is glaring at her. Almost being the operative word as Sam is now thoroughly confused as to what is happening. She has an inkling but only one person can clear her doubts and that person is Katie, who previously dumped water on her and then slapped her. Because of this track record of their previous encounter, Sam is thinking of her options, preparing herself before even approaching the table she booked for this evening. Finally, after taking several deep breaths and giving herself a pep talk consisting of 'you can do it Sam' and 'what's the worst she can do, she already slapped you.' The latter is not so inspiring as the first one, making Sam frown at her own pep talk. But nevertheless, she finally took the few steps necessary to reach her previously occupied table.
Katie glances at Sam, pausing her queries about the food items. She was in fact not ordering food; Katie was merely enquiring how she can make a dish the costliest. After all, she is hungry and bitter. So, what's the best way to take revenge than to eat costly food and make the other person pay? The waiter was really helpful as he apologized to Katie for what happened to her, almost everyone in the restaurant figured out what happened and most were giving Sam the stink eye, even if not expressing them in an outward fashion. Katie on the other hand was eating this up, not the pity but the fact that most people sympathize with her. That's how she got herself a bottle of the costliest red wine the restaurant has to offer. Katie does not even know the name of it, but she likes the taste of it so there is that. Revenge does taste good till now in Katie's opinion. And now that person of the hour, the person who humiliated her is returning from her trip to the restroom, frowning Katie feels glad, rejoiced. As now she can grill the woman about why she did it and how she is related to her arch nemesis, Trent of all people.
Katie glares at Sam while she sits down. Sam on the other hand is looking at the waiter and avoiding eye contact with Katie. She is aware of the deadly glares sent her way, but her confused brain is making it impossible for her to make out the why. Also, the waiter's stink eye is not helping Sam at all.
"Thank you, Eddie, will call you back when we are ready to order." Katie smiles at the waiter, who nods his head and walks away leaving the chaotic couple at the table, both seated this time.
"So... you are Sam Davis."
"And you are drinking wine?" This question makes Katie do a double take and start laughing at her 'enemy' for tonight.
"What? You want some. Well, you have a glass right in front of you. Sip it, it's good." Sam narrows her eyes at Katie, who merely shrugs at her. Reluctant and a bit scared Sam pulls the glass towards her and takes a sip. All the while hoping and praying that it is not poisoned. Katie on the other hand did not even think about poisoning it. After all, she needs the other woman alive to answer her questions. The questions that have started forming as soon as the anger subsided.
"Wow. This is really very good." Sam replies, still tasting the wine. "What is the name of it?"
"Something fancy. Don't know, don't care. Really liking the taste though." Sam blinks slowly hearing Katie's reply.
