A little Au. Thomas doesn't exactly like the Rescue Team. Cici comes every two weeks.. The father's backstory is canon (I mean there are car children so.. they has to be a reproduce thing going on.)
"Thanks for letting me go, Jin." Roy said. He patted his bag of items for the trip.
Two years without seeing his family. They lived on another island and they couldn't come when Roy was transported to Broomstown. It was mostly his mom and brother but he did miss them
Jin smiles. "I'm sure the town can last without you for a couple days. Have a great time. Poli and everyone else wanted me to tell them that."
"Tell them I said thanks." Roy responds. "I better get going now, I can't miss Cici."
"Bye Roy!" Jin waved. He transformed into his vehicle mode and drives toward the bay. The crane triplets, Ms Bell and Lifty greeted him but they were busy. He patiently waited for the boat to come.
Just as he saw Cici from a distance. Helly's voice pops in his communicator.
"Guys! There's a fire at Mr Builder's construction site! It's out of control!"
"Alright Helly! We're coming!" Poli said.
A big fire? That wasn't good. He looked at Cici and then to the road. He definitely had enough time to help and get back right? Dropping his stuff he rushes over to Mr Builder's site.

It surprised the team but nonetheless they were grateful for his help. Now he was driving quickly to the dock. But by the time he got there, Cici was in the distance driving away.
"Wait! Turn back!" Roy yelled desperately. But she was too far and she disappeared into the fog.
His family wouldn't be happy.

"I am so sorry Mom but I missed the boat. Again." Roy muttered the last part. He sees his mother sighed but gives a weary smile.
"It's fine. I know it's busy being a rescue but-"
"He's not coming?" Thomas rolled into the camera. An obvious sad look at the news.
"Thomas I'm sorry it's just-"
"It's because you have to go help the Rescue Team. Blah Blah. Blah" Thomas mumbled.
"Now Thomas you know your brother has to go. If he has to miss the boat to save people-
"But he promised! He never visits us anymore!" Thomas yells angrily, hopping up and down. "He always misses the boat because of the STUPID RESCUE TEAM! Why is even part of the Rescue Team! You said Papa left us because he became a Rescue member!"
"Thomas, he died.." Their mom muttered sadly. Roy looked away. His dad died in a gas explosion. He was trying to get everyone out and get caught in the bomb. They found his vehicle smashed against a wall, too hot and cracked. They couldn't repair him. Thomas was a young truck but heartbroken. They all were
"Next time Thomas. I promise.." Roy plead. But his brother glared at him yelling.
"What happens if there is no next time! What if you die like Papa! This isn't fair! Stupid! Stupid! Rescue Team!" Thomas cries. Tears streaming from his face Thomas rushes away from the camera and their mother follows him calling for him."
"It's not fair!"
"It's not fair!"
Roy felt his own tears coming out. The phone line disconnects and Roy stays in place. He stares at the blank video camera
"Roy!" Poli comes in. "What happened? Why are you here?" He wanted to ask more questions when he noticed the tears streaming down the firetruck's face. "Oh... Roy." Poli comes close.
"I'm an awful brother.." Roy mumbled. "Thomas hates me.."
"He's mad at your for missing the boat? How come you never catch the next one?"
"I... it's timing. I know for sure the next two weeks I don't have much patrolling or checking on the safety spots. But after that, I had so much to do. And I know Cici is going to come in 2 weeks but after that, her schedule might change."
"I mean.. I'm sure He understands."
"No."
No?"
"Thomas is terrified I'm going to die. He thinks I'm killing myself. Our dad died during a rescue and Thomas never forgot about it. He was so sad and when I left,he just started bawling. ."
"I'm sorry Roy.." Poli sighed, patting him. He didn't know what to say. He understood Thomas's trauma and Roy's sadness. Roy was really the one who had family.. Poli and Helly didn't have their families anymore. Amber's in Broomstown however they traveled.. Roy was transported to Broomstown and that meant leaving everyone he knew behind.
"Come on... maybe some sleep will help. Today was stressful for you." Poli said. Roy sighed.
"Yeah.." Roy mumbled. "Perhaps"
Poli smiles sadly as Roy rolls into his bedroom. The gate closes and Poli sighs.
"If only Jin would allow him to use the water skies. I'm so sorry Thomas and Mom
