The detective froze up as if he was the statue of liberty. The feeling of discomfort from the immense staring had quickly transitioned into a mix of being flustered and surprised at the same time–What a sly thief, even managing to steal a kiss. He touched his lips for a split second before then realizing there was no time to feel hung-over by an obvious distraction. The detective quickly erased the irrational thoughts from his head and stormed out of the apartment–looking both ways before realizing the criminal had already reached the ground.

Rushing down the stairs as if there was no tomorrow, Shuichi continued to pursue the chase–-not even batting a second to catch his breath as he tried to catch up with the boy who was now at a distance. And just as his luck could get any worse, raindrops started to fall from the sky. “Y-You won’t get away!” he exclaimed.

Kokichi ran, shirt flapping in the wind he created due to his speed. "Shit." He mumbled to himself, his face a Pollock painting of emotion. He turned the corner in front o the detective's car, slashing a single tire, not breaking his speed, knowing if he'd slow down now, he would have two pursuers.

As the light shower turned into a downpour that soaked the boy completely— Shuichi continued to follow the footsteps of the pesky little thief, hefelt a tinge of guilt to leave the brunette hanging as he turned the corner—though simply didn't have the opportunity nor enough time to explain to the seemingly angered girl who was inspecting the slashed tire of their car. “Call for backup to investigate the apartment!” was all shuichi could yell until his voice faded into the distance long before maki could even realize it.

The ravenette wasn't sure how long until his legs were going to collapse, he could feel as if his breath was running out any second now.
Suddenly halting his steps once he was face with a wall, Shuichi almost slipped though managed to stay on his foot—he bit the inside of his lip as he tried to figure out how to pass the wall "d-damn it." he cursed under his breath before pushing aside the boxes, seeing the very narrow cranny. He attempted to force his way through the hole, though unfortunately enough, he couldn't.

He instead took the boxes and attempted to create a footstool—boxes were weak, but he didn't need them to be tall, just tall enough for him to reach the top of the wall. He stood ontop of the boxes, hoping that they wouldn't break as he then extended his arms to reach the top of the parapet wall before then looking over—seeing an exhausted thief slumped back against the wall.

he knew this was his chance, kokichi's attention wasn't above after all. He quickly pulled himself up and hopped over the wall before then tackling the boy onto the floor "I-I've.. hah… g-got you now..” He panted in between his words—they were both just evenly worn out by the intense chase.

"Hehe...I guess you've have-" His heart was beating faster then before, he had failed to think this far.
He swallowed and started to look behind him discreetly, trying to see if he could work his way out some how.
"Got me just where you wanted me, huh? This position would be awfully -compromising- if your girl assistant showed up~" He looked at him, having the lurking feeling his tactic wouldn't work this time, as Saihara might be to tired to even process the statement. He couldn't push him off either, his body was slightly limp on top of him, and he'd never been strong- hence why he tended to manipulate emotions and minds so much, something he proudly boasted, and now it could possibly be his downfall.

Shuichi remained unfazed by his words, he made the same mistake twice before by allowing his manipulative tactics get to him—perhaps deceit was this boy's expertise and hence why he managed to slip away from all of his foes with such ease. But a secret ingredient loses its effect once figured out, The detective kept a firm grip on Kokichi's shoulders to ensure that he wasn't going to attempt to escape. Though, the ravenette wasn't sure if he could handle running back to the car where maki resided in—his legs felt numb, and his broken phone was left in the bar. It seemed as if they were just stuck together. “Oh trust me.. y-your words aren't fooling anyone. M-My assistant along with a few other.. b-backup people are investigating your apartment, they'll go after the nightclub any time soon tonight.. g-give it up, you're practically cornered..” Shuichi spoke, giving little notice to the small distance between him and the other lad's face and instead shot up a glare.
