As days past, Dream's attitude toward George had completely changed. He'd become more rude and would tease him whenever he got the chance.
All of this just made George spite him even more then before, which he didn't think was even possible.
As he unlocked his locker to grab something he'd need for class, he overheard people talking about the first prom announcement.
George began to question if he'd even go or not. He brushed it off and walked to his last class of the day.
He felt the aroma in the room become more tense once Dream entered.
Almost everyone in the school had heard about their rivalry by now.
Either because of the rumors that Dream had spread about George or just how they acted toward each other.
Throughout the class, Dream would fold up pieces of paper and throw them at George.
George kept himself from opening them because the last time he did, Dream had said some rude things about him for absolutely no reason.
After class, George quickly tried to leave the building but was stopped by Dream and a friend of his.
"Look who it is." Dream spoke. Sapnap chuckled beside him.
"What do you want from me." George asked while looking down.
"Calm down, just a quick question. You going to prom?" Dream asked.
"Yeah, I guess so. Why are you asking?" George replied.
Dream whispered something to Sapnap and they both laughed.
"No reason." He replied before walking off.
George continued walking to his car, questioning the situation. Why would Dream care anyways.
He drove home while listening to music, still curious about what Dream was plotting.
He arrived at his house, greeted his parents, then fled to his room. Thankfully, he didn't have fencing practice today.
As he opened his backpack to look for something, he found a folded piece of paper.
Coincidentally, it was folded just like how Dream would usually fold paper.
He decided to open just this once. There was a number written down and beside it read "call me xoxo."
George raised his eyebrow in confusion. He made the mistake of adding the number into his phone.
The next day, Dream approached George with a smile on his face. "You actually added my number into your phone?" Dream spoke, chuckling after.
"Yeah? What about..." George replied while looking into his eyes.
"Nothing... but we should get lunch sometime." Dream spoke in a suggestive way.
"I mean... I guess?" George replied. "Alright then, I'll text you when. See y'a." Dream said before running off.
George immediately regretted his decision, spitting himself for it.
He couldn't stop thinking about it throughout the school day. "A date? No, it's just two acquaintances eating lunch together. Simple." He thought.
Another school day had flew past.
Since it was Friday, he found himself at a small cafe that he'd like to go to in his free time.
He sipped on a drink while staring at his phone. He'd been texting Dream since school had ended.
This continued throughout the rest of the day. Somehow he enjoyed talking to him.
Especially since the teasing had died down over the past couple of weeks, George found himself slightly trusting Dream.
He was still on edge though, knowing how Dream could be.
Dream's as still just as manipulative as he'd always been, causing George to struggle when it came to trusting him.
George woke up pretty early the next morning even though it was the weekend. He rubbed his eyes while checking his phone.
His eyes widened when he saw a specific message. "Picking you up at 11:15 for lunch, be ready." Read a message from Dream.
It was currently 9:45 so he had some time to spare. He still debated on going though.
It surprised George that after all these years Dream still remembered George's address.
Dream would often come over for gatherings at George's house and they would avoid each other at all costs.
George took a shower and got dressed. He decided he would suck it up and go with Dream.
Something was telling him not to but he ignored the feeling.
He watched as a car pulled into his drive way. He said goodbye to his parents and entered the passenger seat of Dream's car.
"Lunch recommendations?" Dream asked.
"You can choose." George replied. "Thanks for the help." Dream joked. George slightly smiled while looking at the passing scenery through the window.
Once they chose a place and got settled down, they started a conversation.
George found himself chuckling at some of Dreams' jokes. He surprisingly enjoyed the entire time the spent together.
George still couldn't shake the feeing that something was wrong... he just couldn't grasp what it was.
