Chapter 3

Darren's P.O.V

After the whole rumor about Kassie and me making out in the janitor's closet, the basketball team supporters was giving me the cold shoulder and giving me death stares, especially the ones I thought was my friends. And yes, it's true we did make out, we've been liking each other ever since we joined, we knew the consequences if we did get together but we didn't care, Yes we're together and we're quite proud of it, I don't care if I get kicked out as long as I have Kassie I'll be fine.

Anyways, I was making my way to the gym until I bumped into someone, luckily I caught my fall, I look down and saw Maddie rubbing her forehead after she hit her head on my chest. She look up and stared at me. Maddie looked nervous for some reason.

Darren: Oh hey Maddie.

Maddie: Hey.

Darren: Are you alright? You look nervous.

Maddie: Yeah, I just have an assignment due tomorrow and I haven't started yet.

Darren: If you want I can help you.

Maddie chuckles.

Darren: What?

Maddie: No offense but you're not helping me.

Darren: Why not? I'm an straight A student.

Maddie: Yeah, but you're also the boy who betrayed your teammates and supporters.

Darren: Offense taken.

Maddie: I'm sorry Darren, I can't risk anything, I'm not even suppose to talk to you.

Darren: Then what are you doing now?

Maddie opened her mouth about to say something, but closed it back looking defeated.

Darren: Yeah, that's what I thought. Let me help you.

Maddie: Whatever, but I'm bringing some friends.

Darren: Why?

Maddie: For protection of course! I don't know if you're planning to do something to me.

I chuckled and nodded.

Darren: I understand. Anyways we should head into the gym before someone-

???: Before someone sees you?

I looked behind Maddie and saw Kassie with her head down and the cheerleaders glaring at me. Maddie quickly turned around and saw them too, she sighed.

Beck: So is Maddie your other victim?

Darren: What?

Beck: We know what you did to Kassie, Darren!

Darren: What did I do?

Beck: You drugged her!

Darren: I WHAT?!

Jules: You drugged Kassie! That's why y'all was making out! She wasn't even conscious!

Melissa: You took advantage of her!

Darren: I would never do something like that! Who told you that?!

Beck: The victim herself of course!

I turn my gaze to Kassie, she look up and stare at me with guilt, she mouthed "I'm sorry" I shook my head disgusted with her, my heart dropped and my stomach was turning. I can't believe she would do this to me.

Maddie: Is it what she said or are you guys just accusing him?

All the girls stares at Maddie

Becky: Maddie, are you defending Darren?
