Shiro's Guilt

A wolf ran across the grassy plains while her son stood on top of the hilltop with his wooden bow in hand "Mama! Mama!" 5-yr old Shiro shouted to his mother Haru shifted back into her human form whose looks were similar to the lady bone demon's hostess but instead her hair was dark grey her dress was a grey kimono with blue-white trimmings at both sides walked over to her son and softly smiled to him he hopped up and down grabbing her sleeve as he then spoke "Mama! Come look at this!" She giggled as they walked to their training grounds. Haru glanced around and saw the targets covered in arrows. Her child smiled proudly and she then said, "Very good Shiro, it seems you're doing great my little Bái Láng!" With that said she happily cuddled her son, the pair sharing a laugh until they heard screams of terror.

Heading back to the village it was drowned in a sea of flames! blue fire engulfed homes, Stands, and everything in its path!! Villagers had evacuated in time but not everyone had gotten out safely... "Please where are my husband and son?" Haru asked an old woman as she pointed to their house which was burning and floating over was Lady Bone Demon!! Shiro stood frozen stiff as her appearance shook him to his core. His mother grabbed his hands hearing her words "Shiro no matter whatever happens to us please take care of your little brother." 

She then kissed her son's forehead heading down to the burning home as he ran too and once, they arrived Naru had begun fighting the bone spirts his armor broken, Shirt was torn up, and blood dripped from his arms while his wife watched him "Naru I'm coming!" As an arrow made from the wind pierced into 3 of the spirits. He then spotted his wife who jumped into the fray
While Shiro looked on it was then his wolf ears picked up Brick's cries in the nursery quickly as he could the Bái Láng hybrid dodged the falling debris and flames he stopped to find his little brother crying. Shiro scooped him and his tiger teddy up as they came to a halt "Shiro sweetheart you have to go take your brother somewhere safe!" Their mother exclaimed to him while she fought LBD's minions, but he didn't move he couldn't go not without them!!

As Naru smiled through the fire he said "Brick needs a guardian someone has to look after him..." The fire wrapped around them as the Bái Láng and the Baihu hid in a bush while Brick whimpered "I'll be right back gotta go get Mom and Dad!" Shiro told his baby brother as he ran back to the house but before he could walk inside...

The house exploded! Debris flew everywhere as glass landed on the ground. The 5yr old Bái Láng got up and saw the katana and bow intact which sealed their fate... "NO!" He screamed as tears streamed across his cheeks before everything went white. As Shiro jerked awake sweat slid down on his blanket he then climbed out of his bed and stood over the balcony "Hey Shiro Can't sleep?" Mei asked as the Bái Láng sighed glancing down at his photo of his family "Sorry hey Mei What are your parents like?" Mei thought and said, "Well they're strict and always want me to live up to my heritage but they're proud of me!" Smiling at him she then asked "Well enough about my parents what about yours?

Shiro then sadly told her "My parents died when I was just a kid and when Brick was just a baby so it's just me and him." But smiled as he told her what they were like. "Our Dad was an amazing and honorable general He never fought a battle on unfair terms and boy did he also have a temper it was so scary it even rivaled the monk and white dragon horse!" 

Mei's eyes grew wide with sparkles as she thought "Your dad's temper rivaled that of my great 1000x great grandfather and Tang Sanzeng!?" The wolf hybrid nodded continuing only this time started with his mom "Our Mom where do I even begin? She was the clear definition of kind, sweet, calm never once losing her temper she was encouraging pushed to me and became the archer you know now and her singing? Wow just wow anytime she sang it was so majestic that whenever she sang her lullaby to me, I would fall asleep..." His eyes filled with tears as they streamed across his cheeks asking "You know the funny thing about this is? Right now, "I would give anything to hear her singing again..." The Bái Láng quickly wiped away his tears as he looked at the stars while Mei wrapped her arms and hugged him. 

Brick and the demon bull family sat in the garden as Red Son then asked, "So Tiger-Boy what were your parents like?" The Baihu hybrid glanced up at the sky "My parents? Never met them they passed away when I was still just a baby, so I never knew what it was like being in a family..." The family was heartbroken as he then said, "And it got me thinking can I miss someone I never knew?" But before he could say anything the family hugged him as Brick's eyes filled with tears they cascaded while the stars twinkle through all of the night....
