"No way are you going on a mission."
"Barnes, I need to. They will just keep attacking, we need to stop it."
"Not you."
"I have to say, I agree with Bucky." Nova interjected from her spot on the sofa.
They were arguing loudly in the meeting room, which was surprisingly comfortably fitted, over Kiki going into the field.
"If I was anyone else, would you still tell me not to?"
"But you're not. You're Ki, and still injured."
"WE'VE BEEN HERE FOR 3 WEEKS! I'M FINE!"
"Her wound healed nicely and quickly, white wolf," added Shuri.
"Stay outta this. Ki is not ready."
"Okay, don't talk about me as if I'm not here. Shouldn't I have a say in this? It's me who's going."
"You're not going."
"Yes, I am."
"No, you're not."
"Yes."
"No."
"Yes."
"No."
"Yes."
"No."
"Just shut up!" Azeria couldn't take it anymore. She was going to go mad if she heard Bucky's weird overprotective instincts overpower him one more time. "Kiki can do what she wants. She doesn't need your permission."
"Thanks, Az."

Bucky pulled a bag out of his secret hiding place and dropped it at Ki's feet. If he couldn't persuade her not to go, he would at least make sure he knew what was happening with her.
"What is this?" She looked up at him from where she was sitting, tying her shoes.
"It has a first aid kit, 3 energy bars, a bottle of iced tea, and a radio. I have the other radio."
"You're gonna tell me to check in often, aren't you?" She stood up and put her hands on her hips.
"What else would you expect?" He answered defensively. She just rolled her eyes and took the bag, slinging it over her shoulder.
"Happy?"
"Not really, but it's better you have it."
☾
What had happened?
Ah, that hurt. And was that blood? Shit, Bucky was never going to let her leave again.
Where was she anyway?
She looked around slowly, trying to figure out where she was. And how she could get out. There was no one else around, the place was unfamiliar. She had no memory since Bucky had given her the bag.
Wait.
The bag. The radio.
She searched for it frantically, ignoring her pain. The bag was coated in blood, some parts still sticky, but others starting to go a rusty brown. It was flung to the side of her; she obviously still had it on her when she fell down.
She flipped the bag and let its contents fall onto the floor in front of her. There was 2 energy bars, half a bottle of iced tea, a first aid kit and...
The radio!
"Barnes." She prayed to a god she had never believed in he would answer. "Please, Bucky, answer."
She counted the seconds of terrifying silence before the radio crackled to life.
"Ki? You don't need to check in for another 20 minutes."
"Something went wrong, Barnes. I can't remember anything. Where am I?" The words tumbled out quickly.
"Slow down, Ki, I can't hear you. Take a deep breath, and try again." Bucky calmly interrupted her.
"It went wrong. I don't remember what happened. I don't even know where I am."
There was a pause as Bucky took in this information. "I'm sending backup in. No arguments."
"Thank you."
☾
Kiki followed the directions Bucky had instructed her on. She felt numb, except for a sharp pain in her stomach and side. At least she wasn't limping, though. That was better than before.
There had been people on standby for the minute Bucky didn't hear from her. Or he heard the wrong thing from her.
"Where are the rest of them, Agent Moonface?"
"The rest?" He was looking around behind her as if expecting more to be following her.
"They got out ages ago, Drege. They're already back in Wakanda. Moonface decided to stay behind and check for any survivors." The other agent reminded her partner.
"Survivors?" What had happened there that she couldn't remember? How long had she lost?
"Coulson will brief you before you go back to Wakanda, so just try to rest on the plane for a bit. You have a couple of injuries, but it seems okay." Drege looked her up and down, and then climbed onto the jet waiting for them.
There were seats along the edge. Kiki dragged her feet over and managed to keep her eyes open for just long enough to lie down on three of them, and blacked out the moment her feet thoughts the chair.
