When class was over I got out of my seat grabbed my bag and walked over to the door, just before I opened it Josh stepped behind me, if he was any closer he would've stepped on my shoe.
"You're a bit quiet, Arna?" Josh touched my arm to turn me round, I resisted and shook his hand off me.
As I walked out the door, I noticed mom's car parked in the car park, I ran over. I looked behind and there Josh was. I continue to run, trying my best not to trip over anything in the road. As I walked up to the car I saw Aria, in the back, waiting for me ... I think. I opened the car door and Aria looked happy to see me. I was really happy to see her out of the house. I got in the car and strapped my seatbelt on. Me and Aria caught up while mom was driving home.
"So what's new with you? Talking to Josh? Does he know you like him?" Aria asked so many questions, and honestly I wanted to know the answer too.
"Well, not a lot is new with me, but about Josh. He has a girlfriend and when he asked me if I was cool with it I said yes. And I met a new girl, literally new, it was her first day today and she's coming round after school to drop something off for ... Me." I explained.
"Ugh, that Josh, I knew he was bad news, I read it in his fabulous hair. But why did you say you were cool with it if you obviously wasn't?"
"Well, I didn't want to make a scene, and I didn't want it to be obvious that I liked him."
"Oh, yeah I've been there. And this new girl, what's her name?" Aria asked.
"Well, her name is Kai and she liked your jacket."
"I'm not surprised she liked my jacket, it was expensive."
As we got home, me and Aria got out the car and I forgot to ask how she was doing. "Aria! I forgot to ask you, how're you doing?"
"I'll tell you when we're inside, it's too cold to stop here for a chit chat."
I followed Aria into the house, while mom walked behind.
"So, how are you?" I asked Aria, right as she stepped into the house.
"Well my hand is fine, a bit sore and scarred but I won't know what it looks like for a couple of days to change the bandages, but I'm actually much better. Thank you so much, Arna, you've done a lot for me the past couple of days and I'm really grateful." In the past Aria had always been there for me, because she's the 'oldest' by like a minute, so she takes that upon herself to be the bigger sister.
"You're my sister, twin sister, we have to be there for each other." I loved Aria, so much. I have no idea where I'd be without her.
As Aria went upstairs, there was a knock at the door. I opened it, it was Kai with a tub, I'm not quite sure what was in it. I let her in and she handed her tub to me.
"It's cookies and mini cakes. I couldn't decide, so I said 'why not do both?' And there you have, cookies and cakes."
"Wow, these look incredible, I have no idea how to thank you. Do you want to come in? We can get plates and we can have a pre-dinner." I suggested, it would be a good idea to get to know Kai, plus Aria needs to be here to thank her for the food.
"I'll go up and get Aria, you just walk through to the kitchen and my mom will be there, take the tub with you and thanks again, you're the best." I ran upstairs to Aria's room, she was standing near the window, looking out.
"Aria? Hey, come downstairs, I have someone I'd like you to meet." I stood by her door.
"I'd love to meet them." She said, she came with me downstairs.
We walked in the kitchen where Kai was sitting at the table with my mom handing out plates around.
"Mom, by the way this is Kai, Kai this is my sister..." Before I could finish Kai spoke.
"I never would have guessed." Kai said, it was funny ... It was. I liked her sense of humour already.
