The only part of flying you cherished was the blue sky surrounding you. Now, it's not like you were scared of flying, it was just time consuming and boring. But each time you got off the plane you could feel the excitement coursing through your body. Your eyes would light up each time you got the chance to explore a new city. Especially that city being Tokyo, the tall and colorful buildings made the city feel lively and unique. Not to mention all the people.

You turned your head to face your dad wanting to explore all the nearby stores. But before you could even ask, he was shoving your suitcases into the back of a cab. Without wanting to cause a scene you decided not to protest and get in the car.

But still, as you drove through the city you couldn't help but stare at all the huge buildings surrounding you.

"Y/N look," your father spoke. "That's where you'll be attending school". You shifted your body to the right to get a better view. "It's called Shutoku Highschool." He added.

"Well it's nothing special..." you mumbled slightly disappointed. You looked back out your window still thinking about your old house and friends you made back in America.

"Look honey," you felt a hand placed on your shoulder. "I know you miss America, but we both know how badly I needed to take this Job opportunity". Feeling slightly guilty you just nod in agreement. With an effort to try and cheer you up your dad starts to mention all the new foods you would have to become a custom to. And yes, it worked. Not long after you both arrive at your new apartment.

"Looks like movers aren't here," you heard your dad mumble. "Why don't you go check out the building while we wait?" he suggests.

Feeling slightly interested, you agree. When you walk into the building you can already tell that this was more on the fancy side. Maybe this won't be so bad? While studying The lobby, you could see that the building was nicely taken care of and they even had seating for guests. Feeling to lazy too explore more of the new territory by yourself, you just decide to take a seat and look at your phone for a while.

Not noticing you had slowly drifted asleep you open your eyes trying to process what was going on, a couple seconds later your dad walks in with a cart carrying several boxes on top.

"That's a lot." You get up and quickly go over and give him a hand with more packages.

"Yeah, we may have over packed just a little." He says while trying to hold the cart steady.

"Oh thank god there's an elevator" he points out in relief.

You both get in and press the button to the second floor.

"So which one of these is ours?" you ask while stepping out and glancing at the numerus doors along the two walls.

Your dad pulls out a paper and studies it for a moment before getting out of the elevator alongside you. "It says 403 according to this". You both scan the numbers along the wall until you see 403 imprinted on a plaque next to a dark wooden door.

"Looks like we're here..." you say a little nervously as the anticipation starts to get to you.

With the key you had been given you unlock the door, and there before you is nothing you were expecting.

The large window on the wall granted you access to an amazing view. "This is beautiful!" your voice now lightening up. Wanting to see more you look around, the open concept in this apartment was not a let down, the kitchen was fully done and you could already picture your furniture inside your new house. You felt an arm wrap around you and pull you into a side hug.

"I know we'll be happy here. We just have to get used to it." your dad says while admiring the view such as you had done you.

"All right, that's enough unpacking for me." your dad calls out to you, "I'm going to go to the store to grab us some groceries." He continues.

"Sounds good, I'm going to keep setting up my room." You add, while setting a small lamp onto your new desk. Your room isn't small, but it isn't too big. It's the perfect size for you. Still having a few more boxes to unpack you motivate yourself to keep going.

There, that's the last box. Something catches your eye before you fold it up. A picture of you and your mom remained inside. I almost threw that out! You quickly grab it, setting it onto the windowsill. I miss you so much... Even though it's been almost 7 years since you passed, I can't stop thinking about you. Tears fill your eyes thinking back to when your mom would take you out for ice cream and tell you stories from when she was younger. You look up determined not to cry right now, you just started a new chapter of your life. You didn't want to waste it thinking about the past.

The door hand raddled and snapped you back into reality, walking back into the living room you see your dad has returned with several bags of groceries.

"Ah, let me give you a hand." you offered.

"Did you finish up your room?" your dad questioned as he started to put foods into the refrigerator

"Yeah I think everything is to my liking," you confirmed back to him with a chuckle.

That night you couldn't sleep, but who would be able to? Thoughts about your new school kept appearing when you were just on the verge of sleep, causing your mind to start processing again. Moving your head to the side you notice that it's already two in the morning. I'd better get some sleep if I don't want to be miserable in any classes. You thought to yourself. Maybe... Just maybe, I could make a couple friends... And with that you drift into sleep.

As your alarm clock goes off your eyes open slowly from being in the middle of a good dream. Just had to ruin that too huh? you rubbed your eyes and did a quick arm stretch before getting out of bed, your legs begin to feel colder as you enter the bathroom right outside of your bedroom. how convenient, you thought.

After brushing your teeth you fix up your hair and head back into your bedroom. You grab your new uniform and slip it on. After adjusting the shirt and (Skirt/Pants) you decide to get something quick to eat. You grab an Onigiri that had been set out for you with a note. " Use this bus pass every morning for school, have a good day! - Love dad " with that you grab your backpack, key, and phone and head out to the nearest bus stop.

When you arrived at Shutoku you could now see how much bigger it looked standing right outside of it. Gawking at it in awe you hadn't noticed a tall shadow behind you.

"Are you just going to stand there or what?" a sharp voice warned
