His hands were above your shoulders next to your head basically pinning you to the floor. Your heart felt like it did a somersault and not just because of the sudden fall. his face was only inches away from yours, close enough to see the beads of sweat dripping off of him from the intense game.

"Oh my gosh (Y/N)-Chan!" Misaki raced over to you with a worried expression plastered across her face.

Midorima studied your face slightly before snapping back to reality, he instantly backed off and got to his feet.

"Sorry about that..." he mumbled under his breath while looking in a different direction.

With that a surge of pain coursed through your back. You let out a small wince catching his attention once again.

"(Y/N)-Chan can you move?" Misaki said while getting on her knees to assist you. The game was paused momentarily due to the unexpected injury.

"Alright everyone, 10 minute break!" One of the coaches announced. Misaki took you to the nurse's office to see what the nurse could do. She handed you a bag of ice and recommended holding it there for a while along with resting your back on the bed you were seated on. You decided to stay in the office for the rest of the game partly because you felt embarrassed a time-out was caused because of you. Misaki on the other hand had to return to her manager duties and decided to leave you there and see you at the end of the game.

As you laid on the bed you noticed the sky was now a light shade of pink hinting that the night was around the corner. Your eyes grew heavy and eventually you nodded off while thinking about the rather strange encounters you keep having with the green haired male.

"(Y/N)-Chan,"

"Hey! (Y/N)!"

Your eyes opened as you noticed a figure standing over the bed.

"Urgh.." you let out as you blinked a couple of times giving your eyes time to adjust. Misaki stood over you with a sympathetic smile.

"Sorry I had to leave you, the game just finished." She mention as her hand rested on the back of her neck.

"We ended up winning though." she pointed out as you sat up glancing at your phone.

"It's already 9:30." you blurted out.

"Yeah, we should probably head home." she chuckled.

You sat up and immediately noticed the slight aching in your back. You put a hand on your lower back rubbing it while shifting your position.

"You should probably take it easy for now." Misaki offered, as you got up and off the bed Misaki grabbed your arm softly.

"I'm really sorry (Y/N)..." she paused. You turned to look at her and noticed her expression had guilt painted all over it.

"I really wanted your first basketball game to go better so that we could go watch more games together." she stopped, avoiding your gaze.

"I didn't think you would end up getting hurt because of me." her fist tightened as she scowled.

You smiled and put an arm around her.

"I have no idea why your apologizing. I enjoyed watching Shutoku play more than I thought I would." You felt her arms wrap around you as she gave you a gentle squeeze trying not to cause you any discomfort.

"More importantly I look forward to watching a full game with you in the future." You let go and saw her face light up.

"So that means you want to see another match?!" she exclaimed. You chuckled and just nodded your head as the 2 of you walked out of the nurse's office.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Oh crap!" Misaki interrupted.

"I forgot my bag in the gym, I'll be right back wait outside for me!" she called while running towards her destination. The air outside was cold, partially because you were in a short sleeve shirt with sweats. The doors opened and you expected to see Misaki with her bag but of course it wasn't.

Your gaze met his and you instantly felt goose bumps.

There stood Midorima again all alone. You both just stood there for a second looking at each other. Eventually he broke eye contact and shifted his body to face you.

"Are you alright?" he mumbled while looking at the ground.

"Oh uhm..." you started. His face turned a pale pink while he furrowed his brows.

"I asked if I hurt you." he questioned a bit louder this time.

"No, no I'm fine." you insisted looking away from him. Neither of you spoke again as the awkward silence crept up on you both.

The wind blew and you shuddered at the sudden gust of air. You looked back to see him walking closer to you taking off his jacket. Before you could reject he spoke again.

"This is just me repaying you for the inconvenience during the game." He said in a hushed voice.

Your words were caught in your throat and your heart started to beat faster. He remained standing close to you having already put the jacket around you. You looked back up at him catching his gaze once again. But this time neither of you looked away, instead you smiled.

"I appreciate this Midorima, your not so bad after all."

Thankfully it was dark out, otherwise you would have seen his face turn bright red at your words.

"Like I said it was nothing." he coughed, backing away. You chuckled at his actions and looked away again.

"I'll be leaving now." he declared pushing his glasses higher up his nose. You nodded and watched as he strolled away with his athletic bag draped across his back.

You smiled to yourself realizing how he was nicer than you thought he was.

"Alright I'm back!" You heard a voice chime. Misaki marched over to you with her bag in her hand.

"Sorry for the wait!" She smiled. The redhead then noticed the new jacket that was covering you.

"Is that Midorima's?" She gasped.

"Oh, yeah it is. He said it was for what happened during the game." She chuckled.

"That's so cute!" She squealed as she ran up to you giving your shoulders a squeeze. You blushed slightly brushing it off.

"We should really go now." you interjected.

"Oh yeah forgot about that." she laughed.

As you walk home, the scene from earlier that night kept replaying in your head, maybe he wasn't as bad as he seemed?
