It was another miserable day at school but at least it was Friday and I didn't have to get up in the morning tomorrow, so that was a plus besides walking home with the Becker boys behind me and cursing me out for some damn reason. Michael being the oldest, was a friend of mine but I started to avoid him during middle school since he started to realize his gender. He was the one who would come up to me and ask if we could play a "game" in the woods, but the rest of them would just walk behind me and just call me a bitch or a slut. I really didn't care, I just wanted them either to disappear or just drop dead and so I just keep walking home to the foster home at the end of the block. No one would really say "welcome home" or "how was your day today" because nanny is too busy making sure that the little ones are safe, occupied and not trying to eat each other or the toys. Like I said most of them are lunatics with mental problems. But some of them are okay just either too happy or too depressed which was great for nanny to take care of them, I do the cooking so nanny can keep an eye on everyone. Which I didn't mind doing because I loved to cook and bake things for others to enjoy, but today everyone was at the park with nanny and vice-nanny, nannies sister. So I had the whole house to myself, now a normal teenager would have friends over and party and drink, but unlike any normal teenager I go to my room and work on homework and play Xbox. The homework is always easy, so I sit in my gamer chair which I love and start up my Xbox to play minecraft, it wasn't till 5:45 I stopped so I could get dinner started. I go down stairs to everyone here and doing things as usual, occupying the little one so they are not tempted to go in the kitchen or try to eat something. I didn't make anything fancy but made mac an cheese with hamburger bits, as I set the table nanny came in and sat down.
" So what have you always wanted for your birthday?" She asked while she looked at me that was curious yet happy look.
"You have always knew the answer to that, it's a family that will actually keep me."I say with a dull tone as I walk back into the kitchen to get the Mac and cheese.
"Well what if I said I found a nice family and they wanted you as their daughter?!" She said excitedly as I gave her a really look.
"You have said that many times before and it always had turned out they really didn't want me." I say like it was the millionth time which it was.
"I know but a man came in one day and already signed the papers for you adoption ok, and also I wanted to give you some birthday/ congrats gifts for all you have done for this foster home, and some of it is from your new family!"She said while she pulled a basket onto one of the counters and left. I was suspicious at first but I ended up looking under the cloth, and what I saw shocked me so much I was speechless. What was inside was two debt cards each with five- thousand dollars each, a hot topic membership card, an iPhone five with two twenty dollar iTunes cards, boxes and boxes of my favorite candies and the free shopping spree card for the mall that nanny had won and it expired the day after tomorrow. I really thought maybe I will have a family after all, and it was a new beginning for me.
