YOU DON'T REMEMBER A TIME WHERE YOU DIDN'T KNOW IZUKU AND KATSUKI...so it's strange to think that your relationship with katsuki is so strained now. so awkwardly new. having just barely gotten closer to him during the first year of yuuei.
and it's funny to think that you three used to be attached to the hip since you were babies. you were inseparable. nothing could tear you guys apart; you promised the both of them that too (pinky promised, so that's even double the promise).
all of your mothers having photo albums filled to the brim with pictures of you three growing up together to attest to that. well, at least the first five-ish years.
because of quirks.
katsuki was the first one to get a quirk. out of everyone in your class as well. and then the next day, you received a quirk; the second one out of your kindergarten class.
a very similar quirk to his, at that. you both (surprisingly despite both of your natures) thought it was cool though, and it helped you two get even closer.
one might say, even best friends.
you still waited and waited for izuku to receive a quirk, excited along with him. coming up with clever hero names and a trio name for you, katsuki, and izuku. katsuki, not so much after a while. he lost hope after a year or so.
the day izuku received news that he was quirkless, you remember lying with him out on the small grass area your apartment complex had. watching the sky as the sun slowly fell behind the clouds, clammy hands held tightly together between the two of you. feeling weird.
a weird and sad feeling knawing in your stomach.
with dried tears on his temples and cheeks, his face still had a warbled smile. izuku breaks the long silence as he speaks up with a teary and dry chuckle, "we still need to figure out a hero name for us. it's been months."
