Early Life
Marilyn Monroe was born in 1926. According to Biography.com her real name was Norma Jeane Mortenson but was later changed to Norma Jeane Baker. When she was a child she was in foster care and orphanages for a part of her life. One person had fostered her for years but when she turned 7 she went back to the foster care system. Marilyn dropped out of high school at the age of 15. When Marilyn was around 16 she married a man named Jimmy Dougherty (1942). When her husband went to Van Nuys, California to work at a munitions factory she dreamt of becoming a famous actor. Her dreams would come true soon, slowly but surely. She was noticed by a photographer one day.
