Career

When her husband came back (1946) Marilyn was already a successful model. That year she signed a movie contract and got a new image. Marilyn dyed her hair blonde and decided her 'show name' would be Marilyn Monroe. She didn't have star acting at first, just like any new actor. When she did become a star actor she won many awards which according to Wikipedia.org are Henrietta Award (1951), Photoplay Award (1952), Look Award (1952), Henrietta Award (1953), Photoplay Award (1953), Photoplay Award (1954), David di Donatello Award (1958), Crystal Star Award (1959), Golden Globe Award (1960), and her last award was a Henrietta Award (1962). Although being a phenomenal actress she had stage fright. Marilyn sometimes became ill because of how bad the stage fright got. She also would be tardy a lot because of the stage fright, which sometimes made her co-workers very upset with her. Marilyn was signed and released from places a lot throughout her career. In the mid 1950s she got tired of playing dumb blonde roles and went to NY to study acting with Lee Strats. Apparently the studying really paid off throughout the years because her films grossed over 200 million dollars.
