Kaito has a goal in life after losing his eyesight to a demon who later became his friend. That mission is to save the more rational demons and help them remember who they were before they started killing. A side mission of his is to kill the origin...
So, months have passed and I've become blind due to a certain demon I'll introduce in a bit. Fortunately, becoming blind has made my aura sensing even better. Anyway, I was walking through a dense forest and I cut/beheaded an irrational demon. I put my sword away and call up to my demon friend, Shoon (Shawn in Japanese), "How's it looking up there? See the other three Demon Slayers we're teaming up with yet?" (Here's how Kaito looks now as a blind swordsman ⤵ Maybe with shorter hair, but you get the idea.)

He hops down and replies, "Not yet. Can't you sense them with your aura thing?" I sigh and tell him that it doesn't work like that. "Alright, alright. I'll go back up and keep watch."
Me: "You know, if it wasn't for a certain someone, I would love to help."
Shoon: "Jeez! How long are you going to milk this guilting me? I've already said that I'm sorry about 150 times now. Just give it a rest."
Me: "Hey, after our fight, plus me getting treatment for your poison, Hotaru chased after me with knives. He wanted to kill me for breaking my tuning sword."
Shoon: "How was I supposed to know that would happen?!"
Me: "Whatever."
Now that I think back, how was he supposed to know?
*Flashback*
A few months ago when I still had my eyesight, I was tasked by my Kasugai Hawk to head to a forest close to a village where two demons were attacking at night. I soon got to the forest and looked around. It was very dark, so I used my Fourth Note technique to sense their auras. That was when I found them right above me. It was Shoon and a female demon. I draw my sword and block Shoon's pincers. He then says, "Leave this pipsqueak to me, Cana!"

The female demon just scoffs and lets him. Shoon smirks and starts attacking me with his pincers as I'm doing my best to block and dodge his attacks. I then see an opening and use "Eighth Note, Higher Notes" to slice his arms off. He yelps in pain as the female demon scoffs again. "I knew this would be a waste of time. I'm done here, Shoon. See ya," she says as she leaps away.
