The small group stood on a balcony overlooking a room filled with squirrels cracking open nuts. "Daddy! I want a squirrel!" Veruca demanded after Willy explained them. "Veruca, you already have numerous pets-" Her father began half-heartedly. "But I want a squirrel!" Veruca demanded. She clambered out, dragging Atlas with her. "YOU'RE going to go and grab one of the squirrels for me, or I'll shove you down the chute." Veruca hissed in his ear. Atlas sighed, and wearily walked down the steps with her.

"Go get that one." Veruca said, pointing to a squirrel. Cautiously, Atlas walked forward, and paused a short distance away from the squirrel. "Uhm... Mr. Squirrel?" Atlas tried. The squrrel turned to him, and Atlas held his hands up. "Hurry up!" Veruca called. Atlas flinched, but he tried to remain calm. "Can you come here? If I don't get you, she'll shove me down the chute, and I don't really want to go down it." As Atlas spoke, he slowly inched closer to the squirrel, and finally he was right in front of it. He held his hand out, and the squirrel ran up his arm, and knocked on his forehead. Atlas blinked, and the squirrel must have deemed something good, because he sat on Atlas's shoulder. Slowly, and with great reluctance, Atlas walked over to Veruca, who proceeded to snatch the squirrel off his shoulder.

The squirrel screeched, and all of the other squirrels came rushing towards Veruca. Veruca screamed as the squirrels swept her off her feet, and put her in the trash chute. "Veruca!" Her father cried. Foolishly, he hopped down the trash chute with her, and the squirrels urged Atlas away from it. They pushed Atlas over to the steps, and Atlas walked up the steps shaking slightly.

Once he reached the balcony, he stood in front of Willy, fearful that he was going to be kicked out. Instead, Willy stared at Atlas, smiled, and said "Come along. There's still so much to see." He turned, and a stunned Atlas followed, with Mike and his father  slightly ahead of them. "You're not mad?" Atlas asked quietly. "Of course not. The squirrels deemed you to be a good nut, and you didn't exactly go down there by choice." Will said gently. Atlas gave a small smile, and Willy continued the tour.
