Inspiration:
The Jews of Jesus' time were overly concerned with external rituals, such as specific food restrictions and ceremonial hand washing. However, Jesus emphasized that it's not what we consume that defiles us, but the internal state of our hearts. This includes evil thoughts, sexual immorality, murder, theft, envy, blasphemy, and other sinful inclinations.
Prayer:
Lord Jesus, you taught us that true spirituality originates from the heart and that defilement stems from within. Our actions are a reflection of our innermost thoughts and desires.
Search my heart, O God, and reveal any hidden wickedness within me. Purify me from all sin and grant me freedom. Amen.
