Don't ask any questions just listen, I called so that you'll stop wondering. Lisa is dead. She was killed three years ago by the same man who kept me prisoner and forced me to do ... to do bad things. His name is Kevin. When she was alive she used to tell me how much she loved you and how she believed you'd one day save us. She told me to keep this number and call if I need help. She said I could trust you. She trusted you with her life. She had every reason to you are her father after all but I don't have any reason to trust you. Lisa was betrayed by someone she trusted. I don't know who he is but he is one of you. And because of that I'll never come forward. I don't want to suffer the way she did. I don't want Kevin to find me. Goodbye.
Gary replayed the conversation in his head over and over again trying to make sense of it all. Who was the mysterious caller and what proof did she have that Lisa was dead? Who had betrayed Lisa? He mulled over the conversation for a period of time but came up empty. The call had come in at 1745 the day before and he hadn't been able to sleep a wink afterwards which meant he'd spend the whole day feeling sluggish. He tried calling it back multiple times but no answer. It was frustrating but there wasn't anything he could do about it. All he hoped for was that it was another false lead because losing Lisa would be too hard a blow.

Samuel Barnes, a convicted pedophile and rapist was having a terrible time in prison. He'd never thought in all his life he'd go through the same agony he went through as a child. His victims were defenseless and weak. He ravaged them and reveled in their misery. But unlike Marcus, his brother, Sam was reckless and his mistake had gotten him caught. Two years inside and he wanted out. He hated being the victim again, he thought he'd run away from that life but fate had other plans for him. He thought he was on top of the world, never even dreamed that he'd ever be another man's bitch. Samuel Barnes was untouchable on the streets, together he and his brother ruled Sunnyside on the down-low. Snatching little girls from their homes and dealing drugs brought in the big bucks. They were Kevin Perez's dynamic duo. Marcus being the muscle purely interested in uninhibited violence and Samuel, keener on tasting the intimate flesh of his victims. Something about a young, undefiled body drove him crazy and he could never get enough of it. Marcus didn't mind it but in truth it disgusted him. He'd always known that one day Samuel's lust for young flesh would be his downfall and he was right. When he was nailed and sentenced to fifty years inside Samuel figured it would be a breeze because he was a headcase and hardened thug but Jackie had proved him wrong. Dead wrong. If his ex-wife could see him now she'd laugh until all her ribs were cracked because he'd been nothing short of an asshole to her. He'd terrorized her their entire marriage, beat her till her eyes were swollen shut and she'd been too scared to tell anyone about it. Everyone of course knew, they knew about his ridiculously short fuse and angry outbursts but no one dared lift a finger against him. St Derek's Dale was like that. People gossiped, people noticed things but they could keep their mouths shut. Never said anything unless someone else asked them and would only speak if they were certain that no harm would come to them. He admired that but he was aware that it was that same behavior that protected monsters like him and he was indeed a monster, his own son could attest to that fact. But it couldn't be helped his father taught him well. He was glad the boy looked nothing like him, he'd inherited his mother's blue eyes and jet-black hair. In fact there was nothing about Harry that told anyone he was related to him. On odd days he wondered if Harry truly was his flesh and blood or if Sally had been unfaithful to him. But it was unlikely, Sally was too scared of him to do a thing like that. On the other hand he could do whatever he wanted. He'd cheated on her with women of different ages, shapes and sizes and he couldn't be bothered to be discreet. She'd begged him to let her go, begged to be set free from the prison she was living and he's refused. She'd tried to escape him but he caught her before she could go anywhere and punished her for it. He enjoyed the control he exercised over her but then he made a mistake and he'd ended up in prison, facing a fifty-year sentence for rape. Karma was a bitch.
