PHIL'S POV:
I stood awkwardly at the bus stop, surrounded by 5 other people. I had headphones blasting out hysteria by muse; which you could probably hear, there were two chavs who probably came from the scruffy council houses down the road, who were smoking - most probably weed. And a little group of 3 13-14 year old girls who where all stood there, showing each other videos and photos and giggling with high pitched, annoying voices. Occasionally squealing, probably at the sight of a saved picture of a toned boy with six pack and chizzled jawline.
I saw the coach approaching the bus stop, everyone withdrew their multicoloured bus passes, which had been decorated most likely in a boring class.
It was then I heard a pacy, heavy run from my left ear, I looked around and a boy with brown wavy hair was sprinting for the bus, by now the bus had stopped and the doors had opened, the first girl climbed on, then the second, the third, the first boy, then the second, with every person that climbed on I looked round at the fast approaching boy. I started walking slowly towards the bus as the bus driver scowled at me, lowering his brows into a 'v' shape, I went up the first step, then the second, and the third, by this time the other boy was at the coaches doors, I looked round, he smiled at me. I walked down the aisle, a double seater, great! I quickly sat down without hesitation and put my bag on the spare seat.
The heavily breathing brown haired boy nervously walked down the bus aisle, things were being thrown at him. Why? He looked so innocent with his big brown eyes... He nervously walked to my seat, then politely spoke
"Please may I sit here?"
He faintly whispered, as things were still being thrown at him and getting stuck in his hair.
"Yeah" I quickly replied, feeling bad for himWe sat in a comfortable silence as I gazed out the window, listening to muse's album on repeat.
"So what's your name? I'm Dan"
He suddenly struck up a conversation which surprised me as dead inside was ringing through my ears.
"Oh, I'm Phil" I said nervously, looking round a little bit
"Cool name!" He exclaimed before having another paper ball thrown at his head
"Shut up Dan" an aggressive and low voice thundered from the back of the bus, followed by deep chuckles.
"Are you ok?" I asked, slight worry in my speech.
"Yeah, I get it every day, you get used to it"
He looked down and I could see his glassy looking tear filled eyes looked back up and smiled weakly.
"Would it be ok if I hung around with you today?" I asked sheepishly
"Yeah, of course it would" he chuckled, the tears disappearing from his warm, deep brown eyes. The bus pulled into the school gates and stopped at the bus park, we were the last ones to get off the bus. The first ones to get off were the chavs, probably in year 11. One of them hit Dan on the head, forcing his hair to spread across his face, and a lot of embarrassment as it seemed everyone on the bus laughed at it.
What's Dan done wrong?
We got off the bus and walked slowly in through the school main entrance. I was dreading the next few hours. But the guarantee of Dan was enough to help me through the hell.
