"Will she be okay? How bad are the injuries?!"

"I can't believe we just left like that! Never looked back, stopped, or anything..."

"I'm so sorry, Miss Lilias...!"

Urgh. Said person frowned, a dull ache from the temples rousing her from her sleep. It quickly spread to the front and back, wrapping her whole head in a slow thump of pain, and as her consciousness returned, she could feel the harshly bright hospital lights beaming down on her, tinting her closed eyelids red.

"W-wait, did you see that? Is she waking up...?!"

"What...?"

Lilias straightened out her arms and legs, wiggling all the digits. Everything still worked, and the stretch felt great. Her knee and ankle both still hurt, but the pain was no longer severe, now reduced to the occasional throb here and there. Both body parts were wrapped up in medical bandages, and as she shifted in the bed, she could feel an IV tube brush across her chest and against her upper arm.

...I'm alive. I...

Opening her eyes, she flinched and momentarily shut them as a flood of white light hit them before trying again, blinking a couple times to refocus her vision. She could make out a few blurry figures as she looked around, huddled around her bed like a pack of penguins as they talked amongst themselves and moved even closer.

"Who...?" she croaked out. Her throat was dry and rough like sandpaper; a quick look to the bedside table revealed a glass of water that she immediately began reaching for.

"H-hey, wait...! I'll get it for you!"

Huh? Lilias blinked as black and yellow patterned on white moved into her vision, a strong, dark arm reaching down and picking up the cup. She blinked again and struggled to refocus as it and the aforementioned features came closer, stooping...

"...Here, take a long drink. You've been out for hours, after all."

As Lilias reached for the glass of water, sitting up, she suddenly gasped. Standing in front of her was Leon, a relieved smile gracing his handsome face as he returned her gaze. He had removed his cape, and as she looked around the room for it, she noticed that Hop, Gloria, and Victor were also there, sticking together and looking relieved, but also very sorry.

At once, they blurted out:

"...WE'RE REALLY SORRY, MISS LILIAS!"

Overwhelmed, said person just smiled, waving them off as she took the glass of water and drank. She wasn't mad at them—they were just kids, after all, and she knew they didn't mean to leave her behind. The fact that they were here, apologizing so fervently, meant that they regretted their actions...and that was enough for her.

"It's okay, you three," Lilias reassured, opening her arms to invite them into a hug. "I am just glad you all are safe!"

Hop, Gloria, and Victor exchanged a glance, eyes teary. A blush blossoming on the face of the lattermost, the three kids then rushed forward to reciprocate, nearly knocking the wind out of the florist as they crowded around her.

"You're too kind, Miss Lilias...!"

"I'm s-sorry for getting you into that mess in the first place! I got your number from your website, a-and—!"

Ah, so that's how Gloria got my phone number, Lilias chuckled.

"I should've been the one to save you! B-but I ran away like a coward...!"
