Father Son Bonding

For Jim, it was a very rough day. He woke up late and was late for school, then Mr. Strickler yelled at him for not being on time. Toby was still ignoring him because of an argument they had yesterday and Barbara scolded him for being late to school. He went to troll market in tears. When he got to Blinky's library, he plopped onto the floor and screamed, crying from being overwhelmed. Blinky came running towards the sound of the scream.

"Master Jim! What's wrong?" Blinky asked as he picked the boy up.

Jim didn't answer, he just hugged him while trying to stop crying. Blinky took note of Jim's scent and body language, realizing the boy is overwhelmed, stressed, and hurt. He held the boy close until he stopped crying.

"What happened, Master Jim? Why are you so distraught?" He asked, breaking the long hug.

"Just a bad day, sorry." Jim responded, looking away as he wiped tears off his face.

"Well, how bout to cheer you up, we have some fun?" Blinky suggested, holding his arms out.

"Sure, thanks Blinky." Jim agreed.

Blinky chuckled and picked Jim up like a baby, carrying him out of the library. Jim tried escaping Blinky's grip, but to no avail. Soon enough, they were at a troll's cave that was dimly lit.

"What are we doing here?" Jim asked, clearly confused.

"You'll see." Blinky stated, putting him down.

Blinky grabbed Jim's hand and brought him into the cave. Upon entry, they saw Aaarrrgghh lying on his back looking at the ceiling. Aaarrrgghh turned his head to look at them, curious to why they were in his cave.

"Blinky?" He asked.

"Yes, old friend." Blinky said as he sat next to Aaarrrgghh.

"Why you here?" Aaarrrgghh asked, confused.

"Master Jim had a rough day, so I thought we'd have some fun. But he's still not completely calmed down from his episode. So to calm him, I brought him to the calmest place in troll market." Blinky explained, signalling Jim to sit down.

Jim sat down between the two trolls. Aaarrrgghh then grabbed Jim and put him on his stomach.

"Look up, Master Jim." Blinky instructed.

Jim looked up and was instantly completely calm. Aaarrrgghh then made Jim lay back. The sight they saw had a very calming effect. They saw a moving image of a river flowing in a lush forest. As the three looked at the magical image, they heard the sound of the river flowing. Jim took a deep breath in and slowly exhaled, signaling he was content. Jim then noticed that it was just him and Aaarrrgghh, Blinky had left. He sat up and looked around.

"Where's Blinky?" He asked, while still looking around.

"Went to get something for you, be back soon." Aaarrrgghh answered, laying Jim back down.

"Okay." He replied, relaxing again.

A few moments later, Blinky returned holding 4 objects. Jim and Aaarrrgghh looked at him confused as to what he's holding.

"You like solving puzzles, correct Master Jim?" Blinky asked with a big smile, already knowing the answer.

Jim's face lit up, making both trolls chuckle. Aaarrrgghh let go of him, in response Jim got up and looked at the 4 objects that Blinky had layed out.

"Wait is that... Really?! You're not joking?" Jim questioned.

"No, Master Jim. This is not a joke." Blinky replied
