Discovering the Hyuga- A neji fanfiction.

ever after?

We got back to Konoha shortly after the war. So many people were gone. I tried to ignore it.

"You were great out there Tsubaki, you saved my life." Neji says softly as we hold hands. 

I smile. "Thank you neji, I said I didn't wanna lose you."

"When I was under the genjutsu, all I saw was you Tsubaki. It was you opening the door of the cage of destiny I've been trapped in for years. It was you holding my hand around time. It was you I went on missions with. It was you I began living with and saw the future with."

I gasp. Did he really see that? I can't help but blush but before I could say anything, Sakura runs up to us.

-"Tsubaki could I have a moment of your time?" Sakura says

- "Sure" I walk away from neji. "What's up"
- "Sasuke left already." Sakura says tearing 

I tried to comfort her the best I could. 

"Don't worry Sakura, his adventure is about to begin but he'll be back before you know it." I tell her. 

"Why does he have to leave me all the time?" She adds as she wipes her tears.

"He's in love with you Sakura, but he's always been like this. Just give him a little more space to have his own life as much as you need your own."

"You're right" She wipes her tears and lifts her head. "I won't be weak anymore."

"Atta girl. Why don't we go see how the wounded are doing?" I add trying to change the conversation. I look over at Neji and he mouths "Go, I'll be waiting at our spot." I can't help but smile and nod and I turn back around and walk with Sakura.

When we arrive we see some stressed medical ninja. "You can use some help." I tell Lady Shizune who was in charge. 

"Yes please" She says wiping her forehead and stopping her medical ninjutsu. Sakura and I put on some gloves and start healing the wounded patients. The wounds heal relatively quickly. 

After about an hour,  more than half of the patients are healed. 

"Thank you so much girls" Lady Shizune smiles at us. "We couldn't have done it without you, care to join us for some lunch?" 

I hesitate and say "Thank you for the invite, but someone's waiting for me. I have to run. My pleasure being able to help in any way." 

I run and go wash my hands and go to meet Neji at that spot where I made my first promise to him at the grass.

"Sorry to keep you waiting Neji" I say sincerely. Neji looks up from his book and faces me.

"It's no bother, I would wait for you as long as it takes." He says and I could feel my stomach whirling with butterflies and my face heating up. I had to look away and cover my face, the nerves were too much. 

Neji carefully removes my hands to reveal my facial expression, I could feel my face getting redder but Nejis does too. 

"Uhn" Neji carefully tucks a strand of hair from my face behind my ear. His face still red "You're so beautiful, words cant describe it. I'm so immensely grateful to have you in my life Tsubaki. You set me free, and you and me together is more than chemistry. I love you, you're the most amazing female I've ever laid my eyes on. I've never felt this way about anyone nor the happiness I get when I'm with you."

I smile warmly, this feeling. I was so comfortable like I was laying on a million clouds and floating in the skys. "Neji, when I almost lost you and realized you weren't going to be freed from your curse, nothing else mattered to me other than bringing you back. I love you too"

He leans in to kiss me and when he did, it was the best thing ever, I closed my eyes and in my mind I could see a curse/ burden being lifted from both of us, as we softly kiss.

He is for me, and I am for him.
