"Someone you love doesn't always have to be a stranger, someone who is close to you can be yours as well. . ." -Gradiana (Me)

Hi, My name is TJ, I bought my friend a beautiful necklace! But after a while, it kept going missing. . . Here's why.

April 10, 2024:

"I hope you had fun today!" said Julie, looking at us happily.

Julie is my best friend, she turned 18 today! I was so happy for her that shes almost done with her teenage years. I also forgot to mention that I personally loved her ever since we met. (Don't tell her that! *wink wink*) And since I got invited to her birthday party, I was psyched!

"I had fun, thank you for inviting me Julie." I said proudly.

"Its what friends do, you know? I wouldn't leave one of my friends behind like that. I am not that rude!" Julie laughed with joy in her voice.

*Thought in head* 'I need to tell her how I feel. . . And I'll give her this necklace to show that I love her. . .'

"Julie, I-"

My sentence was cut off when I was going to say it, but it was time for her birthday cake. We all sung "Happy Birthday" to her, gave blessings, and after that, we had some cake.

2 hours later:

"Man, it's 6 o'clock already?!" I said in shock to myself, thinking that it's only been 30 minutes since we been in her house.

*Thought in head* "Oh no. . .! The neckla-" Someone touches me on the shoulder, I thought it would be Julie but it's Harmonie. Shes also one of my friends, but we don't talk that much.

"Hey TJ, it's time to go!" says Harmonie, like she's in a hurry or something.

"Yeah, yeah I know but I have to give Julie something. . ." I say with a worried look in my eyes. Harmonie stops and looks at me and said. . .

"Do you. . . Like her?!?!" She said unnecessarily loud. Everyone was looking at us. She was onto me so I had to lie.

"N-N-No no, no, not at all! We are just friends after all! Nothing WERID about that. . .! hehehehe-" I said with a tear coming down my eye.

I knew that if I tell her, she'd probably go straight to Julie. And she'll never want to talk to me ever again! (as I rationalize to myself) I didn't want that honestly. . . So I had to do what I had to do to save myself from embarrassment.

"Ugh, you're so weird TJ, whatever I'm out, see ya. BYE JULIE!!" She said that and left.

I don't know what is she planning but I'm hoping it's not too dramatic and/or dumb. She's the type of person who doesn't care about the small details. It's not that she DOESN'T care about it, it's the fact that she's not very visual. And that's why we love her for that.

"Well. . . I'll see you tomorrow Julie. Happy birthday!" I say, looking at the bright side of things.

"Thank you TJ! See you tomorrow at school!" She said, waving goodbye at me.

I walked out of her house and went back home. I don't live too far away from her, so it wasn't a long walk 'till I got home. By the time I got home, I put the necklace somewhere safe where I would easily find it but it will be hidden in place. . .

April 10, 2025:

Even though that was a year ago, I still haven't told her ever since. We have only gotten closer as best friends, but I loved her for this long, ever since 6th grade, I never stopped. And I still have the necklace. Maybe it's the time I give it to her.
